No, he is a very good player, very similar to berbatov in many respects, but he is more of a support player than a lone forward, and we have plenty of 'support forwards' in sigurdsson, dempsey, holtby, dembele.

We already have that type in Dempsey, he is playing a different role to what he's used to and I doubt Clint (or Defoe and Adebayor) has had the number of 1 vs 1 chances that Michu has.

Point is he's performing that different role very well...he's going to stay a forward. In addition to that, he's making the one on ones, due to his intelligent movement etc a lot of the time. He's engineering chances for himself through intelligent forward play and linking up with those around him well - and of course his finishing is better than most strikers in the top flight at the moment.

None of them, bar Dempsey, will get close to scoring that amount. He has been a support player, but he's playing the lone man very well at the moment.

I'm not ignoring any of that, who would you get rid of to bring him in?

I'd also argue that he's played as a lone forward a lot this season because the strikers that Swansea have aren't good enough.

Yes, probably, but for me I see no reason why he wouldn't be kept in a forward position given his level of performance.

Not sure who he would replace but given that we need another striker - is that an issue? Could Defoe go in the summer, possibly? (not saying I would by the way)

Michu is a midfielder that can do a job upfront? haha

No. He's clearly s forward. He may have played in midfield for pretty much all of his career, but that's why he was worth 2m and now he's worth 20m. He's a forward.

I dare say the transfer fee was £2 million more due to the financial status of the selling club. That coupled with Swansea's financial astuteness and an element of a gamble is what makes up that purchase - by no means "market value".

He has scored the most goals from the fewest chances in the league.

I'd love to sign him, but reckon he'll stay at Swansea until the summer.

I hate the thought of buying someone after one good season incase that is exactly all it was. We've all seen the likes of James Beattie, Michael Ricketts, Roque Santa Cruz, Andy Johnson all go pretty drastically downhill after their good spells. Pretty sure we have come close to buying most of them actually

Watching him close up and everything seems to go in slow motion with him when he was the ball it's unreal to see!

Was watching him playing crossbar challenge the other day left foot right foot bang every time don't know what he adds when the goals dry up tho

He scored 16 goals in the top division in Spain last season so not a one-season wonder.

Certainly a talented finisher but how many players have we paid top dollar for after impressing in the Prem and get value for money? Bent, Bentley, Crouch, Defoe, Keane (2nd time), Palacios all had average to little success. Dembele seems to be an exception.

Rather than simply trying to buy players doing well for other teams and then trying to fit them into a system we could try identifying what we actually need and find a player that fits it.

Michu's price will be huge right now. Not the right time for me.

His definitely a match winner and the more match winners in our squad the better IMO (Dempsey comes into that category too potentially Sigurdsson)

As long as the price wasn't ridiculous, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Mikachu would be a great catch, but we don't really need him, Dempsey is a similar sort of player as is Siggy.

Robbie Fowler was better, Little Pea at Man U is better.

Will defences have sussed him out next season. Cisse at Newcastle couldn't stop scoring last season but can't this season.

To be fair, a lot of Cisse's goals last season were wonder-strikes. It was inevitable he wouldn't have the same luck this season. Plus, Pardew tinkered with him and Ba in the first half of this season, and unfortunately for Cisse, Ba got the better deal.

Bent got 16 goals too didn't he?
