understandable. Terrible scheduling for you guys then!

Not for me personally, especially with Spurs in a final. I don't mind rugby but I follow my friends advice that it's fine to watch but it's not for taking seriously.

There wouldn't be a problem watching the football if Ireland weren't playing, but every pub will have that on, especially where the OP is talking about which is a huge rugby area.

If we were playing United or Liverpool then it might be different as they both have huge followings in Ireland and a few more pubs would have it on, but the rugby, especially against England would take precedence in most pubs.

it is going to be a great day for us Irish Spurs fans or a hell of a bad start to the week.

This shouldn't even be a consideration for any Spurs nut.

We're in a final, seven years since our last one...and some people want to watch a fucking game of rugby :woot:

I messaged the bot and they are showing rugby downstairs and football upstairs.

In laverys do they have more than one big screen? Or is it just that one out the back?

at least the Rugby is a 3pm KO and the Final is 4pm.

Precisely, I'm at Wembley and will be watching the rugby in The Torch then the Spurs second half , extra time and penalties. simples!

Aargh! I've just realised the Cup Final clashes with the rugby. For those of us lucky enough to live in Ireland, this is a bit of an issue. Nobody much interested in Spurs over here (or Chelsea), but lots of interest in the rugby. My chances of watching the football in any of my local pubs are less than zero, I'd say. Any SCers in Limerick (or Ennis) know of a Spurs-friendly pub, by any chance??

If you want to watch it at home but haven't got Sky you could always pick up a Now TV box with a sports pass.

That's what I am gonna do. Normally I go to the boozer to watch but every Chelsea game their fans are obnoxious. Never have an issue with any other team including the Arsenal. Nearly had fisticuffs a couple of times and I am wound up enough with recent Spurs team selections to take the calmer route.
Edit: Just remembered I am not in Ireland.

Hmm ... did a quick google on the Now TV box. It's just another way of paying for Sky Sports really, isn't it? (without the length of contract, obviously). Major catch appears to be that the sports package is 'out of stock' according to their website - what the hell does that mean? Also, I have an ancient TV, so not sure it would work?

Can't find any reference to him being a Spurs fan, but I'll take your word for it. Seems he owns a pub (but doesn't run it any more) - Murty Browne's in Tullycrine. Checked their Facebook and there's loads of references to the Ireland v England game, but not a single mention of Spurs. So I think we know what that means ...

Daly is a massive Spurs fan and was at the 2008 Carling Cup final. Might be worth giving Murty Browne's a ring and asking will it be on there. No NHL this weekend so the great man might very well be on the premises on Sunday afternoon.

I never knew Daly was a Spurs fan as long as I know him,It's not going to make me like him though.
