Please don’t forget 1776, history tends to repeat itself, British getting destroyed.

:eh: They are going to get the French, Spanish, Dutch, Poles and Germans beat us up for them?

The responses are hilarious to that article - seems like theres about 3 serious fans on there, the rest are 12 year olds with nothing better to do than act tough on t'intahwebb :)bow: we're not worthy! we're not worthy!)

One that made me crease up was this gem:

you Brits keep coming here and pissing on us.

you claim because we play a different style of football more technical and influenced by mexico that we should stick to baseball.

HAHAHA!!! HHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAhAHAhA!!!!!

More techniHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

And i thought there were some mentals who followed the NASL (Or the Roller-Disco Soccer League), seems the MLS has attracted all of them and then some on top

I’m 19 and live in Columbus, we will fight any firm in the world. Even when out-numbered in our own stadium. I was involved in the incident, which is completely West Hams fault (8-12 IFC stood directly behind the Crew section, when immediately asked to leave by security they threw up their fists like they wanted to fight. 3/4 of the Crew section emptied to the NE side of the stadium. The remaining 1000+ IFC left their section and met us by the concession, when the first punch was thrown by a CREW FIRM MEMBER mace was used and stopped any progress for a brawl.) It’s how we do things in COLUMBUS, try not to sleep on us, or we will be your worst nightmare…on and off the pitch. Also, I apologize to those who don’t understand the passion involved in this situation. We will NEVER allow someone (especially Britts) to come to our stadium and push us around, sorry…..Please don’t forget 1776, history tends to repeat itself, British getting destroyed.
I hope the U.S is starting to realize a thing or two about “soccer”

 Numpty.

I particularly like the idea that they would be a Premiership side's (even one as shit as West Ham) worst nightmare ON the pitch. I watched MLS once, it was ruuuuuuuubbish!

Rubbish? Pish-tosh :snooty: Rohan Ricketts is one of the best players in the league. How can you call it rubbish with such legends.

hahaha quite a funny incident. Columbus is a mess at the moment. They can barely draw 10,000 to their games now when they used to almost fill the place every week.

Having said that, the West Ham fans acted like wankers and were the one's that instigated the incident by enterring their section. Unfortunately, Columbus is a bit of a backwater and isn't home to too many cultured people.

As for "Eurosnobs", I really don't have anything against the one's that support a club that they grew up with back in their old country. But if a person's "support" of an overseas club dates back to the creation of Fox Soccer Channel then they are no better than the plastic Chelsea fans that are now found all over Britain.

Ouch. I seriously disagree with that statement. I don't think supporting Tottenham is plastic or in 'vogue' here in the states. It sure as shit isn't bandwagon either. I only know one other Spurs supporter in Richmond and he happened to be a friend who randomly attended WHL while he was in London and fell in love with the club and the atmosphere.

Plastic, Fuck that! I may not start a fight with stupid ass teenagers but I will remain with the club regardless of success or failure.

To sum it up, randomly labeling people b/c of a time frame when they were introduced to the club is bullshit. Forgive me if this is an extreme reaction, but fuck me. That was a shit statement.

As for the Crew and hooliganism. I enjoyed the movie but fuck the immature violence. Also, Philly has the meanest fans in the country. They threw trash at Santa Claus for christ sake and still brag about it to this day. My buddies and I almost got ran out of the arena when we traveled there to watch our College Basketball team beat Drexel. Regardless, our team won and they were cocks about it. They should just learn to deal with their inadequacies.

edit: I deleted my explanation for my ties as an American Supporter of Tottenham Hotspur FC. I did this because I don't owe you an explanation.

Look, I didn't call you plastic. I never said it was wrong to support a club from overseas. I said I don't appreciate it when people support a club from overseas, but then calls MLS or their local club shit because it's "not good enough" for him. I myself can't claim any deep-rooted connection to Spurs, but I obviously wouldn't drop the club if they fell even further down the table. But I also support my local club and support the cause of American Soccer despite it being clearly inferior at this point in time.

You're from Richmond so I'd hope you make it out to a decent number of Kickers games. I know they're probably at non-league level, and there are maybe 2,000 fans instead of 30,000 but as a fan of the sport in this country I think we have a bit of a responsibility to help it grow as much as possible.

If you refuse to listen to me then just read this article:

That is a rational explanation. I do make it out to Richmond games and it is only about 2k fans. Got to watch them beat the pants off the LA Galaxy last season in the US Open Cup. Unfortunately we lost the 2nd playoff championship game in 3 years on penalties. Those were both sandwiched between a Championship win.

Richmond actually dropped themselves down for financial reasons from USL Div I to II, 2 years ago. We lost the Div I title game on penalties, won the Div II title the next year, Lost the Div II title on penalties and beat the Galaxy in the Cup. Also, Richmond was the last non-MLS team to win the US Open Cup in 1995 when they also won the USISL Premier League Championship to win the Double. Not bad for a team 2 hours from you that is in a 'non-league'.

I personally think soccer will not improve enough until the USL and MLS merge to form some type of relegation system. It just won't stand out among the other professional sports in America with just having the playoffs where the Galaxy qualify with a crap squad plus Donovan and Beckham.

I also made it up to DC for the Galaxy game a couple weeks ago. I enjoyed watching the Galaxy get spanked because their defense sucks donkey dick. The Galaxy's right back especially was exposed for being a moron. Oh yeah, Richmond beat DC United earlier this season in their annual friendly.

Cheers!

I'm a little late to this conversation but this is my favorite from EPLtalk:

'Jeremy (HSC) // Jul 21, 2008 at 8:37 am

Yo we are the US version of Millwall FC, London, England, Europe!

Watch out or the crew gonna get you! ICF you are whack! the HSC reign supreme!

Of course, that could be sarcasm but on the other hand...

'1000+ IFC'--

That is just sad to look up to a Hooligan gang and then to try to compete. Immature bullshit.
