Have some class mate. If Mason could have played on with something similar we'd have been delighted. You can't mock him for wearing protective gear after a skull fracture.

He's an Arsenal player and previously a Chelsea player, he's fair game. Also it's a joke, you know it's a joke and you know that it offends absolutely nobody

Has anyone calculated how much the increased ticket revenue in a year will be? Are we talking say £20 million or more? But my point is that maybe it is not so significant in the big scheme of things.
However of course there is all the extra revenue form food, programmes, shop purchases etc. By building a bigger fan experience base they are securing the future prospects of the club. I suspect Wembley has been useful in allowing more tourist supporters from across the world to get to see a live game and perhaps become more avid fans

Our old matchday revenue was around £40 million, Arsenal's is £100 million (based on a couple of seasons ago).

I would think the Emirates was a good yardstick in terms of what we would expect so a £60 million increase in turnover would be very significant based on last years turnover of £300 million or so.

I wouldn't take the piss out of a Gooner or Chelscum player for being disabled, gay, black etc, I really don't see how taking the piss over the consequences of a life-threatening injury is much different. Apart from anything else it's just the low-hanging fruit when there's so many things actually wrong with those clubs for us to revel in.

If you’ve sat/stood in the east all your life and watched the game side on you won’t want to be sat behind the goal

Also half the atmosphere created at WHL was because you had 2 groups of supporters chanting in different areas of the ground

The worry is the new south stand will be a decent atmosphere and the other 3 sides of the ground will be like a morgue (or all like the old west stand!)

The kop will be crap. Full of tourists that want to say they've stood on the kop.

Real lads like me will make our own little section. Viva riggi' block!

Well don’t keep it a secret...

I’m sure there will be plenty who will want to stand/sit next to the away supporters

Surely all those people will sit in the home end. It's 17,000

Why does everyone just presume that every ST holder wants to sit in the South Stand?

Of course the atmosphere will be great but there are other things to consider. A lot of people there will be standing during the games. If you don’t fancy that then you won’t be wanting to go there. I go with my Dad so even if I wanted to do that it’s not an option.

Plus some people like the side view of the pitch. I’ve personally found that being in the East Lower off centre, but towards the Park Lane is a good compromise between view/atmosphere.

As has been said, I expected a slight price increase but fear being totally priced out of the East Stand.

Nah, what will actually happen is that the club will call it a Singing Section, an Atmosphere End, warn that it will be converted to safe standing as soon as they can, and yet some bellends will still decide to get season tickets there and then insist on everyone sitting down when they could do that comfortably in literally any other part of the stadium.

I'm not presuming that. But if you want the cheaper tickets, that's where they'll be

That may well happen. Fact is it’s even more likely to happen if tickets for the East/West are extortionately priced.

Sure, but it’s all relative. Obviously they will be cheaper, but how much cheaper?

Anyway, guess we’ll find out before long.

How much would a season or matchday ticket have to be before we all said bollocks to this, I'm going to spend some quality time with my wife, husband, partner, etc (sage nod to pc fundamentalist mods on this site. ie. A&C, the ISIS of pc adherence). For me, we're already pretty close.

Exactly. I don't understand why people want a premium seat for a cheaper price, you can't have it both ways. It was cheaper at WHL because you didn't have a good view, now you will have the premium view, you have to pay for it accordingly. Either you compromise on the price or the view, that's just how buying tickets for stadiums works and always has done

Hmm not sure to be honest. If the ground ends up like the emirates then I'll just stay in a pub on the high road.

My view at WHL in the East Lower was great thanks.

No one is naive enough to expect a similar position for the same price, but they rightly fear a huge price hike. If the cheapest tickets in the new stadium are the equivalent of the more expensive tickets in old WHL then you are going to immediately price a lot of fans out the stadium in one fell swoop.

Nothing in this world should cost more than a fiver.
Spaceshuttle? Fiver.
4-bed house set on 2 acres? A quid.
Season ticket? Tuppence ha'penny.

Hope this helped.

That is a distinct possibility imo. Although, you should also prepare for all the pubs in the High Road to morph into pavement cafes, staffed exclusively by ponytailed types named Cecil.

For god's sake I obviously wasn't talking about each individual seat and you know it  Of course there were some seats in the east that had a good view but IN GENERAL the east stand was considered inferior because it had restricted views and therefore was priced cheaper than the west stand accordingly. Now that that difference is gone, of course the club are going to charge more money.
