I'm quite excited but it's an odd feeling because I don't feel like our squad is nearly complete yet, and it sounds like we'll be missing a lot of key players at the weekend.

Kaboul and Sandro are unlikely to start, Capoue probably isn't ready, our centre backs are all fucked and we still don't know what's going on with Bale. On top of that you still feel that there could be a few incomings and a few outgoings, so it's all a bit odd.

It's almost as if the games up until the end of the transfer window are just a warm up, but let's hope the players aren't thinking that way.

Obviously a win to start the season would be good, but Palace will be fired up so a draw wouldn't be a bad result.

Just don't see it happening based on pre-season. Think Townsend will be good coming off the bench and hopefully put in some good performances to make AVB use him as fair competition to Lennon until we sign Messi.

I dont understand the dislike lufti, as said by many Fryers was our worst youth player in the U21's, it has also said by a ex member of coaching staff that he has only be included in the preseason tour because he has been poor and this is being done to raise some confidence and see if he shows some of the promise he showed before he signed.

Now that he has shown a little promise there is no reason for him to continue as we have better now, even in the youth team to cover CB. He isnt ready to be near a premier league team yet let alone one near the top 4. He needs a loan to league 1/championship to get game time not sitting on the bench. Also the likes of Carroll, Falque and Kane are in the U21 squad atm and it is clear they are far too good for that level whereas with Fryers he looked poor last season.
