Yup it seems that this nugget of news has been lost amongst the festive cheer. The footballing genius of Alan Curbishley has been snapped up by Fulham to work as Technical Director alongside new manager Rene Muluwulusteen.

Time and time again I keep hearing the argument that the system of technicl director/DoF/Director of whatever just doesn't work in England. Seems a silly suggestion as I can't see why it wouldn't work in one country yet can be successful in another. For me it all boils down to having the right people and personalities in place. But there are pros and cons for and against the system. Either way it seems that it is a system that isn't likely to just disappear from British football any time soon.
