This is the one link all summer I struggle to make a case for. He's average, he hasn't really improved since he joined United or Leeds and I don't think he's any better than either Lucas or Gil. If we get him I hope it's a Conte special like when he signed Moses and Young and Darmian for Inter and went on to win the league but I feel like I'm telling myself that to make me feel better about the move.

It’s probably impossible to make a worse attacking signing than James. He’d make an interesting wing back but as a forward purchase it’s embarassing. As everyone likes to remind me on here though, Conte and Paratici know best. So we should sign him then I guess.
