By the time the window closes we will be ten points behind everyone else. Then the new guys will take a month or two to get going. Why don’t we get them in NOW?

The size of the squad need to be reduced, at the same time or near as we bring players in.

Winks and Lloris have been replaced with players that are not only for now but the future, To bring players in the club need to sell or loan players.

If we bring two CB's in now, we have Tanganga, Dier, Romero Rodon, (looking like Lenglet as well) so in short would have seven centre backs? How do you think we can aford seven centre backs and likely three that would never get game time, let alone the huge wage cost to the club, money that could well be spent on other positions.

This isn't a game of football manager.

Sometimes, the best way to show an unwanted player that he needs to get his agent working to find a new club is to replace him while he's still here.
I think some of our players are happy to sit and comfortably pick up their wages, a little nudge towards the door may just be what's needed because otherwise, we risk wasting time and losing out on targets.

It's not ideal, of course it's not but it is decisive and ruthless, which is probably what we need to be right now.

For all we know, deals may be agreed for CBs and ready to go, subject to knowing whether we have HK money to spend on option 1, or if he stays, we trigger option 2.

Since we're all guessing and calling it realism:

It's very hard to believe that these things and other potential signings and possibly outgoings aren't all contingent on whether HK stays or goes.

Clearly if he stays, the club will need to be able to commit to a huge offer to try to persuade him to sign an extension. Whether we think there's any chance that he can ever be persuaded, I assume DL needs to know he can at least try, knowing that if HK were to accept, the money would be there. If he goes, it frees the club of that huge obligation as well as bringing in a fee which, together, changes the whole spending landscape. I have no doubt DL's preference is to keep HK.

We know DL well enough to know that he won't gamble with money, he'd rather be trying to balance all the eventualities, even if we lose all our best opportunities in the process.. It kills us, but that's how he operates.

The trouble is Levy knows what the supporters think of him and I don't believe it worries him for one second. It's water on a ducks back so if he has to lie to another of our managers then he will. There are what 5 days left of the window and I wouldn't be surprised if we start with the same choice of defenders as last season unless he spends the Kane money but I wouldn't rely on him doing that either.
Think you'll find it's "off" (which is the whole point of the saying).

Same faces in every thread taking a shit on the team they apparently support...

Are we sure this forum hasn't been infiltrated by a load of Woolwich fans? Sure sounds like it, the non-stop whining and pissing, complaining and taking shots at basically anyone attached to the club that's going on recently.
