Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy still feels regret over selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City in 2017, despite raking in £45million for the England defender. Walker has gone on to become a club icon at The Etihad.

Not sure why he'd regret this. He was the best full back in the country and the best and richest club wanted him. Doubt Walker would have been too happy if we refused to sell, especially if we then went on to win nothing.

Don't think Levy had much choice really. Walker's head was gone and they offered stupid money.

Its taken more money to replace him and we still haven't done it. What is the lesson learnt from this?

IIRC Danny Rose also wanted to go at that time- look which one won more.
Walker has done amazing since he left

I think there's an awful lot of rose tinted specs looking back on Walker. He was famous on here for his 'brain farts', his contributions in the final third were no better than virtually anyone since, and his lightning recovery speed was frequently needed in situations he'd caused in the first place. He was a good player for us, but never great in my opinion.

Very true, although I think Trippier could have been very good for us if Poch hadn't been so restrictive in the way he wanted him to play. Trippier was great at first time early crosses into the box but Poch wouldn't let him do it.

Depends what you want from your full backs. A lot of people heap praise on Corluka but for me having Walker and Rose haring up and down the flank was the most exciting time for us. I'm more than willing to forgive errors when your energy gives us so many more options in attack.

Should never have sold him to City. A direct competitor. I was furious at the time.

In the entire time I've supported I can not think of a single Right Back that was unanimously liked. Every single one was overly criticized from Dean Austin to Emerson.

Walker is perhaps a close second in the popularity stakes to Corluka.

His head was gone and they offered 54m. We were nowhere near competing financially and still aren't.

Surely everyone loved early Stephen Carr! It helped that he came after a long line of dross.
