The pillar of truth, SportsDirect News, are back with a steamy scoop on a "Tottenham target."

This time, it's Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli.

Tottenham Hotspur are among clubs interested in promising Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli, SportsDirect Newsunderstands.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye in Serie A this season, with big names such as Juventus and AC Milan reportedly keeping tabs on him ahead of a possible bid in the summer.

Baselli only just signed for Atalanta this season, and Tottenham Hotspur are now said to be leading the interest in him from abroad.

A creative midfield playmaker, Baselli has drawn comparisons with Juventus and Italy star Andrea Pirlo, and may even be eyed by Antonio Conte as the veteran's long-term successor at the Juventus Stadium.

Still, Spurs' Technical Director Franco Baldini is well connected in his native Italy, and may look to persuade the youngster to consider a move to White Hart Lane next year.

If he was 17/18 then yes. But at 21 when we have TC and Bentaleb showing signs of promise ( not to mention our other 87 central midfielders) this is obviously just fluff.

He's a good kid, but he's not pulling up trees or anything. He has good technique in the way he strikes a ball, good at dead ball situations. Still, a strange one. I've heard Inter linked with him at one point, and Juve, but mainly because Atalanta often sell players to Juve. I expect him to get a co-ownership deal with one of the bigger Italian clubs at some point.

Was gonna watch him today but the stream was shit and had Italian commentary, so didnt bother. I might try and catch a game soon as I know Atalanta do produce some very good talents.
