I know we've only had 7 or 8 games this season, but I wonder if anyone would like to nominate a team (not us) who could be a 'dark horse' and surprise a few people this season.

I'm going to take a massive punt on Brentford. Any others out there?

West Ham seem to be going well under Moyes, I expected them to fall away this year with the added disruption of European football, but that hasn’t happened yet.

Brentford have already, as have Brighton
True, but as I say, it's still very early in the season and I'd take Brentford to finish the season higher than Brighton, purely because they're far more aggressive in their game-plan and are scarier to come up against. I reckon Brentford can keep this going all season but Brighton..? Naah, I don't think so. Just my view.

Another team who've impressed me this season, are Palace. I know how shite we were at their place a few weeks ago, but I think a lot of that was down to their pro-active approach under Vieira rather than the re-active approach they adopted under Hodgson. They chase you down all over the pitch and don't give you any time on the ball and I think they've increased their fitness levels to a large degree. I know we did our best to help them with the shit we offered back, but even so, they've massively upped their energy levels and that could cause problems for a number of sides this season, hopefully starting with their game tonight!

Dark horses for a mid-table finish for both sides I reckon.

Was looking at the table this morning, honestly think there’s 16 decent teams. The only teams I don’t rate at all are Norwich Watford Burnley Newcastle. Everyone else I’d consider a tough game with players that can hurt you. Still think Leicester will have a very good season, their squad is actually very good.

Could be a decent shout.

I agreed with all of this. But just checked and both their losses this season came after Europa League games. So here's hoping...

There is absolutely no reason why this Brighton side can't get at least Europa League football and possibly Top 4. They were much, much better than the table suggested last season, only let down by some poor finishing and incredibly bad luck. I think Spurs fans often don't realise how much constant attacking pressure they can pose to the smaller teams, because they're also capable of playing effective counter-attacks against the bigger ones. It's a solid squad with Bissouma still to come back, a very talented manager and nobody looking a shoe-in at all for 4th with us, United and Arsenal faltering.

Brighton have only played one side in the top half of the table so far and they lost that one.

There are signs they are reverting to type with one goal scored in their last 3 matches. I would be amazed if we’re not a comfortable 8/9 points clear of them come boxing day
