Bent showed again what he is about. Took his goal well and then did absolutely fuck all for the remainder of the game.
He's the Premiership's top scorer. Perhaps he should do a tap dance.

Actually he is second top scorer to Torres. Will be surprised if he doesn't make the next England squad.

that was one of the worst 1st half performances by Man utd I've seen for a long time. Scholes and Welbeck have been rubbish. Rooney has tried with little success. They only look like creating something when Berbatov's on the ball but he hasn't been on it much.

Regrettably for us IMO the best players were former Spurs players - Berba, Carrick, Steed and Bent. I don't care about bent, but miss the other three a lot.

He performs well for small clubs where not a lot is expected of him - Ipswich, Charlton and Sunderland. There is something about playing for a club of our stature and history, and maybe even playing for one of the big three in London that means some strikers don't succeed. See also Rebrov and Chris Armstrong, strikers who had decent records prior to joining our club.

Bent is a fine goalscorer, but he always seemed overwhelmed when playing for us, trying too hard and not letting his natural ability shine.

It's relatively simple, he shines playing for worse teams than us, because other teams attack them, thus there's a lot more space behind the defence to get into, which is number one attribute! Against us, teams tend to defend, which he's not creative enough to deal with...

Although saying that, his hold up and link up play has looked a lot better recently!
