Don't mind Beckham training with the squad I just detest the media circus around the issue and Arry saying one thing then the other, it looks/sounds amateurish

With Vicky now expecting her 4th, The others back at school in England and this stuff about Beckham training at Tottenham, I'm wondering now more than ever if we are actually going to try and sign Beckham permanently and forget about a loan spell.

Harry though generally looked like he didn't have a clue what was happening today with this deal.

Fazza - HR knows what is happening, don't kid yourself.

This is a permanent deal surely?

Really dont understand why some people are getting so worked up about this. How on earth is it 'embarrassing'? Obviously its a complex deal and we look to be trying our best to carry it out behind the scenes, its taking time and if we do sign him on loan/permanant Beckham is already here training with the squad getting up to speed with fitness, tactics etc. and should be ready to go at the point a deal is possibly reached.

As for 'Arry looking amateur for 'Not knowing whats going on', maybe he has had more important things to do, like I dont know, getting the team prepared for important league and cup fixtures!!!, where the team literally has been busy for the last 2-3 weeks now. When would he have had time to get involved in negotiations, it wouldnt surprise me if he genuinely didnt really know how it was going other than its 50/50 on whether a deal can be struck, whats he meant to say to the press in that case?

And also, its pretty hard to provide new insight into the deal when he is asked about it (literally) every two minutes!

It is/was a loan for 2 months, how complex is that going to be?
If anybody, either side, was really interested it would`ve been sorted to start 1st jan.
Would`ve stopped all the fannying about.
Sky Sports, i`m looking at you.

I would say it was relatively complex to be fair - Galaxy wern't keen so they were making it difficult in terms of agreeing the exact details. Thats why this has dragged and you can sort of understand their position.

I have this funny, sneaking feeling that we may now be looking at a permanent deal for Beckham. It would make sense (for him, at least) given that he's got only 1 year remaining on his contract with MLS Galaxy, he's moved his kids into a local school and now his missus is preggers with sprog No 4.

This is the view from the other side of the pond (Canada, admittedly). Some of the responses to the article are interesting.

Its probably more complex due to it being a loan and that Galaxy dont want him injured on his return therefore are requirng a large insurance policy, also when should he return?

IMO this is going to be a perminant deal, its the only way around the insurance problem.

Journalist Lawrance Donegan is possitive Beckham will not play for Galaxy ever again. Ive posted this in the ITK thread but will also post here. Apparently LA and Beckham had a bit of an arguement over the loan deal stuff, and both parties are very keen to see the back of each other. Lawrance even floats the idea that Beckham isn't just training with us but is on trail.

The journalist seems a solid one, workes for the guardian as a golf corespondent and lives is the US he seems very sure of him self and it isn't like he needs to make these things up to get a pay check

Something fishy must be going on. There was never this much fuss when he went to train with arsenal.

It's completely obvious what's going on here. He's a spy for AC Milan. Think about it.

SSN reporter at the lodge is getting very excited because David Beckham is soon to start his 14 minute journey to the Spurs traning ground:whistle:
Seems to think there may possibly, hopefully, God willing be a chance that he might one day eventually be able to actually play for Spurs.
Seems to think that will please the Spurs fans, apparantly that's what we are all hoping for.
Is it very wrong of me not to give a toss? Has anyone over the last two years actually said to anybody else "what we need is David Beckham"? Quite simply he ain't good enough for our team so if he comes it'll be a big publicity stunt, which I'm fine with and it will be successful, just look at the coverage SSN are giving it, but why they are so fixated on us wanting him to play is beyond me.
I shall now sit back and wait for the parade, I hope they've got elephants and acrobats as well as the clowns:evil:

i dont want him, i was reading that due to this new registration stuff, even a player on loan would be counted. So after he moves back to his US lifestyle we are stuck with 24 players - rather than 25.
