no because i fear it will mean the end of gomes. also no because we need at least one calm gk in the team and that is cudicini despite his mistake

Cudicini is fine, he is making mistakes because he has barely played in 6 months. I'm more worried about Woodgate getting fit and playing every week.

Why, why would anyone start a poll like this?

We're a football club not a dump

Yes but i`m helped immensely by this forum, keeping up with tactics, gossip etc. If you lot don`t want James thats good enough for me. The reason i didn`t buy David Villa from Valencia was that spursandbarca said he`d be at Barcelona by the end of the week so i bought Crouchy instead.

I would not want him. He would not be much of an improvement on what we already have.

He's a MASSIVE down grade on Gomes and not much better, if better at all, than Carlo. Carlo was number 2 at Chelsea for years and would not kick up too much of a fuss if he became number 2 again when Gomes comes back. Would James be as happy......?

No, but not because I don't think James is a decent keeper (I think he is), but only because if he comes then I think Gomes will go, and I think Gomes is the better keeper of the two.

I wouldn't mind him as no.2 behind Gomes. But he is getting on a bit, im not sure its worth it tbh.

He's the equal of Gomes and a very similar type keeper which means whichever keeper we chose to play whether in the league, league cup or f.a cup this wouldn't effect the team and we needn't worry about playing a physical team launching balls into Cudicini's box.

Cudicini's decision making yesterday was shocking and will have our back 4 scared stiff. It was Robbo at his worst, which is disasterous for the defence

i think if james comes cudicinni goes. cudicinni didnt play for ages after gomes retook the top spot and is 35. my guess is james would be top goalie till whenever gomes came back and then carlo would be shipped out and james would most likely take a backseat. that said i dont want james to come. cudicinni is decent cover and james isnt worth 2 million just for one season imo.

Why some people say they feel safer with Cudicini in goal I have no idea. He's nearly as rooted to his line as Robbo used to be, and it's not a matter of his being short of games. He always was.
