Eek I understand many of the negative argument smade against the Hudd, but to say the guy lacks quality is plain wrong. He lacks pace and urgency, but his quality as a footballer can't be doubted.

He isn't good enough. How many other teams in the EPL would he make their starting XI?

Yeah he looks good and has a very good passing range whilst also be both footed. But his weaknesses are fucking major ones, especially as a CM.

Claude Makelele would love to have Hud's passing skills, but...

Even Harry reckons we wouldn't have lost had Daws still been on the pitch.

I think Dawson has been quality this season. Yesterday he had a great game and alongside Woodgate, were keeping it tight at the back. And I'll agree with Redknapp and say that we would not of lost the game if Dawson was on the pitch.

Totally agree. Dawson has had a good season for us. He is lacking in some areas I agree, but you cannot question his commitment, which is sadly lacking in more than a few of our players.

Well Huddlestone is an Under-21 International. He's still young and still improving. He has a lot of potential. No need to give up on him so early in his career. We really need to get him in that holding role though i think. He has the presence thats crying out for that role in the team. But like i say, he's still young. Get a proper holding midfielder as first choice and allow Huddlestone to develop more before writing him off.

Oh and to keep it on topic, Dawson is doing really well under Harry. He's just what need at the back at the moment. I just wish he could pass the ball out from the back instead of the aimless punts. If he didn't give possession back to the opposition with those long punts, he wouldn't have to defend so much in the first place

Against strong pysical teams his aerial ability is really highlighted. He is very strong in the air and Heskey and Zaki would of expected to win a lot more headers then they did.

He still worries the hell out of me when he gets people turning at him with pace. All he needs to do is drop a couple of yards to compensate for his lack of pace but most of the time he just goes hurtling in the back of the opposition and gives away a silly free kick.

he played really well today , shame he got a knock cos his replacement cost us a point with bad marking from the corner
really hope harry sticks with him and he gets a chance to play in the cup final this year if we get to it, he is looking a bit more like the dawson of 2/3 seasons ago

My own thought on Dawson is that if he hadn't tried to head a ball that was very low (resulting in a boot in the face) then he wouldn't have needed to go off and there would have been less injury time added on....

maybe no late injury time goal??

I know your only joking but despite the kick in the head it was heskey who elbowed him to really scramble his eggs. And if the case for pulling up our half battered best player yesterday to prevent 1 min of injury time is stupid. We have always, still do and always will concede stupid late goals. It's what we do. Just a shame for the fans that travel to newcastle, wigan et al that they can't concentrate for 4 mind longer.

Knowing what Daws is like, he's probably gone round apologising to the team for not being on the pitch and stopping the goal! He's a brave man; getting kicked in the head, and then elbowed by Heskey. I bet not too many players would challenge Heskey like that.

GeneralLevy you are talking utter tripe mate. This isnt the first time you've talked nonsense. Dawson has been our best player last few games and its an appreciation thread and you're on here slating the bloke. Give it a rest and dont let the door hit you on the way out mate. Fool.

I have loved watching Dawson since he put on the shirt for the first time. Even through his bad form last season he still gave 100% every time he put on the shirt.

More than can be said for some of our squad these last few weeks.

Always loved Daws, think he will be a great captain for us one day. I love the passion, the grit. He plays for the shirt, I just wish a few more were like that in our squad, yes he can be a bit naive, but he still has the best years ahead of him.

Dawson is a fucking donkey. He makes at least one major fuck up per match. Yeah he's been playing relatively well recently, but he is still making these stupid mistakes.

Love all these country inbreeds coming out slagging me off. DAWSON IS A FUCKING DONKEY

Woodgate and King often make huge mistakes, but they're forgiven within seconds because they're everyone's fucking golden boys.

They don't make a major mistake every game and also both of them are/were world class.

I love Dawson's attitude, his heart on the sleeve mentaility etc... but he isn't good enough as first choice CD imo.

That is fair enough (although I disagree), but to say he is a donkey is going overboard. He could easily get into a number of first teams in the PL.

Good logic Batman.

I thought so:up:
