Very interesting reading. We have a lower wage bill than Villa, ManC, West Ham, Portsmouth for example, but much better turnover despite having a smaller stadium than three of them.

Interesting reading, although the debt figures look a bit out to me at first glance, or at least it's difficult to understand how well they relate to reality.

But yes we're missing out massively on income from a new stadium. It looks like a new stadium is worth something in the region of £80-100m a year when all things are taken into account. Plus its value as an asset to the club and also the money gained from selling any redeveloped land around the stadium - although i imagine the club would probably lease the land rather than sell unless it has to.

I thought we were planning on developing all the land we own?

He seemed a bit miffed out our situation casting aspertions over our figures. Some of the financing for building the stadium will be subsidised by the supermaket chain that tkes that end of the development, and the sale/rent of housing in the area.

The only people who will be surpised by this are the muppets who reckon we'll be spending £50m on players this window

A big stadium is not a magic wand. Sunderland have a 49,000 seater. And the building/redevelopment of the stadium of light is peanuts compared to what we will be spending. (plus they can upgrade internally to 70k)

That level of added debt, and the interest, and the financial red tape of developing in London plus the ridiculous labor costs compared to oop North, the revenue from boxes/posh seats, and another 20k seats is going to be swallowed up by the development costs.

A lot of SCers will be dead before we actually start making a profit from the new stadium. I give it 20 aprox years before REAL profits start rolling in.

what is the guy going on about where the money come from to finance our player spend - it'll come from the club - there's nothing mysterious about it

if he's that inaccurate about a club i know about - then that casts doubts on all his analysis

I'd assume that once it is re-developed will either sell or most likely lease some of it out. I can't see Spurs wanting to own and run businesses like pubs and restaurants when they can just lease out the property and make good money that way.

That being said this is pure speculation on my part and i'm sure there are people out there who know more specifics about the plans than me.

I assume there will be some housing in there was well, which again will either be leased or sold.
