The sooner Mourinho realises we'll be a better team without Alli starting the better.
Played in the right place and the right way theres not many better.
Dont wish away our best players so cheaply.
He knows where the goal is and thats one of the hardest parts of the game and the most important.
He is in no way a defensive midfielder.
Yes he's been poor lately, still scoring goals, but who hasn't?

I didn't wish him away, I said we'd be better off without him starting. I see Lo Celso and Ndombele as better options than him for a 3 man midfield. And I don't see how he fits into a front 3.

What is the "right place and right way" to play with him?

Dele can be unplayable at times but he needs intelligent players close to him who can lay it off quickly and move intelligently - quick one touch football. It's no coincidence that he is out of form when Lucas has played upfront.

Also he must not be given time to think. When he thinks he loses the ball or fluffs his shots.

Absolutely, he isn't the player to consistently unlock a low defensive block which I would assume why in these games he is more or a poacher with late runs to the far post.

Think Dele's our best option at cf in a 433 as things stand without another striker. Optimistic him and Stevie can link up well.

Dele has been out of form since before Lucas even arrived at Spurs ffs

I don't see how he keeps a place in the side long term.

If you have Son and Steve either side of Kane, you then have Ndombele / GLC and a DM.

Where does Alli fit in?

Exactly, this is what i'm really hoping for. Lamela and Lucas are great impact players and can impact the game replacing Stray J and Sonny. Plus we will have the likes of Winks, Gedson and Sissoko as back up to Lo Celso, NDombele and DM.

Just not sure where it leaves Dele, because he will throw a huge tantrum being a squad player but can only play one postion which is in a 4-2-3-1 in the middle of the 3. So unless he suddenly really works on his game and loses that chip from his shoulder, then i'm unsure what he really does for us and the balance of our team.

I doubt we’ll get a DM tbh. Think I read some where that mourinho want or think Ndombele can do the defensive job as well as the offensive.

Not sure I agree though

Still think Alli could do the 'Firminho' role while Kane is out. He's an intelligent enough footballer.

He’s going to have to play some kind of similar role. If we are going to do anything over the rest of the season we are relying on him big time. Need 10 goals out of him. Match winning ones.

Carragher is spot on with Alli. He's not a great midfield player. It's good others see the same thing.

He's a second striker, and one without pace. It's a bit of a luxury in the modern system.
