I look back at the All or Nothing to Jose’s comments re Dele. It’s a battle of wills, where Jose wants ALL and if he doesn’t get it, then Nothing. Dele needs to fight for his place or leave. Remember not fitting in with Jose’s plans doesn’t make you a fail a failure......KDB, Salah and Bonucci

Dele can do it... he can look at ndombadboi as an eg..
Injuries will happen and dele has to be ready to stake his claim :)
He's still only 24

11 goals in 46 appearances since the start of last season. nowhere near his best but not diabolical by any means. Lucas has 12 in 67 appearances. then Sonny and Kane lead the way of course.

What counts as an appearance though? A lot of mouras will be coming off the bench whereas Alli used to be starting every game

Let's face it, Lucas/Bergwijn ain't there to score goals. Unless Dele give the same threat as Son, or work as hard as the two mentioned, he isn't getting into the team. Up to him now

Funny how many writes him off, and all of a sudden he’s on the bench again. Maybe a pragmatic coach see value in having different types of players..? Maybe not a bad trainer after all?

At Chelsea Jose has 9 untouchable players and everyone else was fighting for two spots. I actually think it’s even more extreme now, basically every posting barring 1 is spoken for and we’ve got 14 outfield players fighting for one first team spot and 6 on the bench.

Bergwijn Doherty Tanganga Rodon Sanchez Davies Winks Lo Celso Bale Dele Lamela Lucas Vinicius and Clarke are basically all competing for 1 spot in the side, with 6 spots on the bench. Until we suffer injuries, suspensions or severe losses in form, i don’t see this changing.

The tackle on the break is what Jose wants from his forward line. If Dele does that regularly he has a chance to get into this team instead of Stevie.

Pretty clear Jose wants to play with two quick wingers. He’s never going to play Dele there.

I'd like to see him given a couple more chances this month. I had a good feeling about him when he came on. The lad just needs to rebuild his confidence. And I get why Jose doesn't trust him. Mostly because he seems to refuse to do the bare minimum of working his ass off. If he could just show a willingness to do that, he'll get his chance. I'd much rather see an in-form, all-action Dele in an attacking midfield 3, than Stevie B.

I thinkw e really should play him more. We are not giving him a chance to see how he plays - today was a good opportunity to play him. Liverscum wouldnt perhaps but at home against Leicester id play him
