Games coming in thick now, so he'll get his chance. Stoke on the 23rd is a good opportunity for him to play.

I was just thinking this. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a few run outs during the Christmas period with the massive fixture pile up.

I'd like to see him given a couple more chances this month. I had a good feeling about him when he came on. The lad just needs to rebuild his confidence. And I get why Jose doesn't trust him. Mostly because he seems to refuse to do the bare minimum of working his ass off. If he could just show a willingness to do that, he'll get his chance. I'd much rather see an in-form, all-action Dele in an attacking midfield 3, than Stevie B.

remember the first day in training inside all or nothing. mou literally told him he's one lazy mofo. the modern game requires a more industrious kind of defender. that's the basic. he either delivers or he goes

We don't know whats he like in training. He was branded a lazy trainer. If hes sulking and still not putting in the effort on the training ground then he isnt going to get picked. I'd be surprised if we let him go on loan though as we need everyone available in case of injuries.

He will be useful for fa cup matches and against stoke in the EFL cup.

I mean, we kind of do? It was clearly stated in the Amazon doc.

It was one training(first Mourinho training iirc), and it's highly possible that the player who is one of the best in the league for distance covered and pressures, somehow made it with Pochettino who is also very demanding isn't that lazy as it looked in that doc.

It’s a shame because we do need more goal threat in the team ( Kane and Son can’t be expected to shoulder all the burden), but it’s clear he doesn’t fit into the system and if the only game time he gets is 10 mins against crap opposition when the whole team is having a stinker it’s pretty clear he’s done.

Watch the Amazon doc where Jose calls Dele out in the team meeting for being a lazy trainer, Jose also talks about "a lazy pass" and speaks about the pass needing to be being quicker / faster. When Dele gets the ball he doesn't move it fast enough and he doesn't move fast enough when he travels with the ball at his feet - that's doesn't fit in with what Jose wants ATM. No doubt he has talent, but if we are honest his decline started when he got injured away to Fulham and he struggled for the rest of that season with form and fitness. He has never recovered.

The same things I saw Mourinho state as "fucking lazy" ie his passing in the doc is the exact same stuff he does in the games. Thus it seems fairly reasonable Mourinho thinks he's lazy.

I believe Mourinho has also made quite a few references to players earning their places like Lo Celso & Ndombele through hard work.

I thought he did very well when he came on and was doing some of the things Jose would have wanted, being urgent with the ball, getting into the right spaces, working back. That's the intensity he needs to keep.

The problem is that Dele is one of those players who sometimes likes to bring the tempo down so it suits him, which is of course no good to our strategy and counter attacks. He needs to ensure that every time he comes on he's full of intensity.

Looks like he's defo off in Jan

Romano just hedging his bets as usual, he’s not telling us anything we don’t already know. A high earning player, not getting any game time might leave their club in the transfer window...

I’m stunned.

The big question is the nature of the deal - loan (and what length) vs a permanent move and whether anyone is interested in a loan to buy option.

There’s a quality player in there but I worry going to PSG as rumored might just give him a different bench to rot on. I wonder who is interested.

“Kids feel this charisma, this energy, and with Dele it’s happened the same; he has this charisma that kids love and follow.”

I echo this.
Tired of listening to people teaching me why Dele is finished. Please let me think he is still great. He is still on the bench btw. But sure, Jose doesn’t rate Dele Lazy.

He surely must know that the 3rd spot in the front 3 is up for grabs atm and we know he can put the defensive shift in if he wants to, he needs to grab it quite frankly.

I've said the same. He's not the fastest, but he's no slouch either. Unfortunately, I think his finishing is nowhere near as clinical as we need it to be.
