Incredible tonight. The goal speaks for itself but there were two class assists and a lot of hard work. Not just pressing but also dropping into CM if someone burst past him.

Not sure what has happened to spur on Dele and Bale but long may it continue. If Jose played a part in it it may save his job.

That was a good performance.
It was also a very different match than any regular match in the PL.
Hence I see no reason to start Dele every week just yet.
Son and Kane alone have combined for roughly 2/3 of all goals and over half of all assists in league play. A huge part of why we've struggled so much over the past two months or so is that opponents sussed out the "Kane drops deep, Son runs in behind" tactic that accounted for the overwhelming majority of the chances were creating and we've never really adapted. If we want to find our form in the league we are going to need someone other than Kane and Son to step up, as the rest of the league is currently setting up to neutralize those two.

When he's on form Dele brings goals and assists in abundance, and his movement can drag opposing back lines out of their shape and open up spaces for other attackers to take advantage of. Together with a rejuvenated Bale I really think Dele could give us a massive boost and make us vastly more difficult to defend, so I hope he's given the opportunity.

Maybe you are right and that would be great. But then he'll need to show that in the league before he is declared a must-have. He doesn't get the time and space as easily in the PL as in the EL. Same goes for Winks and Lo Celso. We need players who can do what you are describing with the pace and intensity in the league.

Obviously he'll need to prove himself against real competition but I think he's earned his chance.

I think the point is that he hasn't played this season and every season before his goal and assist records speak for themselves and we are sorely lacking a player who creates and scores goals

He's definitely moving in the right direction at least. I've been a massive critic of his for the last two years but if he can keep this up and improve even further I'd be delighted. After all, he can be the difference completely on his own when he's at the top of his game

I actually think there were a couple of needless flicks, but, viewed as a whole, they are forgiven/ accepted as part of a great performance.

Poor opposition, yes, but he stood out and deserves credit.

We often say it's all about confidence with lots of players, and this can only be a huge confidence boost.

Yes, he needs to prove it against a Prem team, but I feel tonight warrants him a chance, a run in the team.

Its a win/ win

From September 2020

And former Aston Villa ace Gabby Agbonlahor, now a talkSPORT pundit, said: “I feel like they need a No 10 as well because I’m hearing from a good source that Dele Alli and Mourinho have fallen out.”

So probably was personal after all.

I think publicly calling any individual out makes it personal and I do wish Jose would cut that shit.out.
I think it would make his job a lot easier.

Have we not seen enough of Deli to know what he can do against the worlds best?
I seem to recall him being quite handy before Jose declared him shit.

I'm not a Jose fan and the way he's ostracized Dele has been terrible man and squad management, but Dele was certainly not performing for a while before Jose arrived.

Over the past games he looks closer to his "old self" again. Two assists and a worldie today. Bring on Burnley

To be fair the whole team weren't performing which is why Poch went.
Agree completely with poor man management.

As others have said it's been a long time since he was consistently at his best. So yes, for me he will need to prove that he can consistently perform before we consider him a nailed-on first choice player again. That's especially true when you consider that Lo Celso is weeks away from being available.

Having said all that he's earned a chance to play in the league and stake a claim to starting regularly.
