Awesome news for Dele, but you have to wonder what the hell Eric Dier has to do to get a call-up!

Alli has been very good this season but by the same token, Eric has been nothing short of outstanding.

Roy fucking Hodgson :banghead:

I would actually prefer that neither of them were called up; it's too early for Dele - he's still got to physically develop more - and they both still need much more experience playing in that position.
Also, I don't want them coming back crocked and have them miss Spurs games

Good news for ALLI but it leaves me in a confusing state of mind as to why Dier isn't picked.... Bit baffling.

Great news for Alli!!

Personally I think it's to early it's a lot of pressure let him get half a prem season at least is England really so desperate?

It makes sense as we've already qualified for the Euro's and Roy will be expecting him to make the squad for 2016, so integrating him as soon as possible.

Maybe Dier is being overlooked due to when he pulled out of the u21's. In which case sod them, better for us.

Isn't he also eligible for Nigeria? Maybe Hodgsen will play him just to keep him from choosing them. Ps. I may be mistaken about the Nigeria eligibilty.

I think he's not sure if Dier is going to end up in midfield or at centre back. This reminds me of when Pleat played Ledley in midfield for a while. Yes he did well and it may have helped his overall game but ultimately he was a natural centre back. If Mason had been available no doubt he'd have been called up too.

No dier or walker... Both have been really good
I think Dier will need to prove himself a bit longer as a DM in order to get called up. Nathan Clyne doesn't deserved to be dropped and Roy has cover for that position.

Congrats to Alli.
May just be Roy's bright new shiny toy selection.
and he will get no more than a run out if that.
Tells you a lot about the state of English football
that a good young kid with less than half a dozen games under his belt gets called up.
Still if he's good enough for Spurs
he's good enough for England.
