For those who have seen him play more than most, what position will he end up in?
Is he for one of the holding roles, Eriksen competition, or one of the wide positions?
I see he's been compared with Gerrard, Yaya, but also Sterling

He won't sit in front of back four.
More likely fit in the 3 off the striker and roam/switch around.

The goal at 1:20 really bugged me for some reason.

Goal on a plate and he strolls off like some sort of legend even though he almost fucked it up.

Really grates on me when people don't celebrate with the people who gave them the assist.

To be fair the ball takes a massive bobble just as it reaches him. Controls it half way up his leg.

You would have said the same thing about Kane 3 years ago too

I can half see your point, about not anticipating how players will develop. But the difference is 3 years ago, we didn't have any other top strikers coming through, I thought Kane was going tobe a good striker for us and Kane wasn't going to cost us 5mil.

Currently we have arguably the best academy in England. We have 3 CMs of 17,18, and 19 that I believe are as good or better than Alli. Who could all potentially be top/world class players like Alli, however will not cost us money and our from within and I believe two of them are Spurs fans.

That's my only problem with this signing. I don't mind people thinking I'm delusional about our young players, as I trust what I see. However, if/when Alli comes I will be happy as he clearly has potential and could become a great player, I just hope it isn't detrimental to the development of ours and we miss out on deeloping what could be a potentially great players.

"Alli’s role in Milton Keynes is almost identical to Mason’s under Pochettino and he boasts the combination of technical ability and athleticism that the Argentine craves. He is 6’2” tall and quick but has been schooled in a Dons academy renowned for producing skilful, creative players who excel in one-on-one situations.

...He is an adventurous, box-to-box midfield player but is also comfortable dropping between the centre-backs and bringing the ball out of defence."

Sounds terrible. What are we thinking?!

Seriously though:

-------------- Bentaleb -------- Alli -------------
------------------------ Onomah ----------------

Gimme.

I think Newcastle are a little better than MK Dons...

The comment was more to do with him choosing Us over Newcastle, and we have proven track record of bringing players through and I dont see how NewC are better option for him than us

"At the training ground posing for picture". No need for the lad just now, loan him back to dons.

I hear your concerns, but it's not just about quality it's about roles and attributes.

Onomah, Winks, Pritchard, and Velkjovic all have different qualities to Alli who looks the most accomplished in the role Rabiot was sought for.

I expect Mitchell will have studied our prospects carefully before we made this move.

If they all fulfilled their potential in 3 years (and it's unlikely) they could all be accommodated in our 25 performing different roles.

Spurs close in on Alli deal
Posted at 15:33
BBC Three Counties' Geoff Doyle: "Tottenham and MK Dons are now finalising the deal which will see highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder Dele Alli move from Milton Keynes to White Hart Lane.
"Alli has scored 12 league goals this season for the League One club. The fee is likely to be around £4m with add-ons plus Alli will be loaned back to Stadium MK for the rest of the season."
