If we can get this over the line, I really wonder what we're thinking about his prospects for next season. I'd imagine it's probably a keep him here and let him develop with the team or get him an EPL loan.

I can half see your point, about not anticipating how players will develop. But the difference is 3 years ago, we didn't have any other top strikers coming through, I thought Kane was going tobe a good striker for us and Kane wasn't going to cost us 5mil.

Currently we have arguably the best academy in England. We have 3 CMs of 17,18, and 19 that I believe are as good or better than Alli. Who could all potentially be top/world class players like Alli, however will not cost us money and our from within and I believe two of them are Spurs fans.

That's my only problem with this signing. I don't mind people thinking I'm delusional about our young players, as I trust what I see. However, if/when Alli comes I will be happy as he clearly has potential and could become a great player, I just hope it isn't detrimental to the development of ours and we miss out on deeloping what could be a potentially great players.
I dont understand why people say this sort of thing. We will have youngsters battling out for a place in our midfield and the best ones will make it. If you aren't good enough then you will drift away and probably end up being sold. It doesn't matter which ones make it and which ones dont as long as the ones who make it play for us. If we have Bentaleb, Mason, Carroll, Alli, Pritchard and Onomah all battling out in midfield then that can only be good for us. The best ones will make their mark simple as.

£4m is an absolute steal for a young prospect like this who has potential to be worth 3 or 4 times that in a few years time. Who knows which players will truely make it but if we have several youngsters in each position then we have a lot more chance in seeing at least one of them become top class maybe even world class.

He's fair to be concerned with the development of already promising youngsters, but I do think it extremely important that we remember quality and potential are not the only categories youth scouts must consider, and all players are not on the same evaluation scale as a result.

Probably get him a championship or PL loan I would imagine. It would be hard for him to get game time with the amount of central midfielders we have. Especially as - according to JJ - we're also looking to keep Carroll.

Yeah, I do believe we will look to sell a couple of our midfielders (including Capoue in this total), but as it stands, we are far too bloated at the position to halt his development by just storing him at the club.

We should only be sending the likes of him and Onomah out on loan if we do not visualise using them. As if Pochettino wants to keep playing the youngsters we should be keeping them in and around the squad to give him the option of using them whilst letting them adjust to the requirements of playing in the current side
