Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin has cemented himself as a valuable first-team player since his Wearside arrival – but what is the situation regarding his contract and transfer talk?

Spurs have a buy-back option of £6million which is valid until 30 June 2024. Should Tottenham not take up this buy-back option and the player moves elsewhere for a fee, they would be entitled to a percentage of profit on any subsequent sale.

I'd take him back as an investment with a loan back with the intent that he could be sold for more
