I started supporting Spurs in roughly 2012/13 after falling in love watching Bale.

Grew up playing football in the states so I would always watch the weekly game summaries from the early 2000s premier league.

I got my dad & brother on board and they always remind me that I drug them into this mess.

Oh wow, exactly 50/50 right now. Inherited it through family, but really took an interest in football on my own after not being interested in it most my life.

Pretty surprised tbh, I thought would be way more like 75/25 in favour of hardcore family indoctrination

Started supporting us because of Glenn Hoddle.
I live in the Midlands and have passed on the love of our great club to my two boys. ?

Played the sport for fun as a kid, but didn’t get into watching the European brand until 2015. As an American I wasn’t raised watching the sport at all. Randomly flipped my tv on one morning and spurs v sunderland was on. It grabbed my attention, and I’ve been addicted ever since. I was a bit of a front runner, so I chose to support the team that won the match (spurs). Late Mason winner. God knows what would’ve happened if sunderland won.

Perhaps similar to myself down here in Aus. Footballer (soccer cough) is about our 5th most popular sport and I had the piss taken out of me growing up for playing, was always called a girl's sport

My Dad had a choice to support either us or Man Utd as liked both as a kid but he chose Spurs.

I grew up watching basketball and was a big San Antonio Spurs fan as a kid. One year, my Mum went to London for a conference and bought me Tottenham pajamas, boxers and scarf, thinking that there was affiliation between the two organizations. I ended up liking the pajamas so much I started to support the team. Worst decision of my life ?

I started supporting Spurs after watching the 1981 F.A. Cup final replay.

I was a 9 year old brought up in Harrow and had no idea where Tottenham was.

Yeah, same in america. It’s def increasing in popularity though, and I’ve gotten many friends into European footy.

I don’t comment much on here but thought this was the perfect thread to say something on.
I chose the Spurs life. I’m from Southern California, my dad is from Luton (in the 60’s) and my mom is from Sicily. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s there wasn’t a lot of Prem on TV for a poor kid to watch here in the states other than the World Cup. When we finally got some access to the Prem I fell in love with this one team that made every game exciting. They could win 4-1 or lose 4-1. Berba, Keane and Lennon were so much fun to watch. Plus the one person I knew in school was obsessed with Arsenal and he was a total dick so choosing his rivals was even sweeter. Little did I know I was in for a lifetime of “Almosts” thanks to Enic’s lack of investment in the team. Still, wouldn’t change it for the world. I watch every game…even the shit served up under Nuno and late season Mourinho. IF we ever get to winning something big…not many teams will understand the true jubilation us Spurs fans will have.

What would this be classed as?
My mum who didn't support any team or know anything about football (neither did my dad) brought me a spurs kit when I was 4 because she thought it looked nice (1982 hummel light blue away kit) and I stuck with them from there... I suppose it was fate
