People talk of too much politics at Spurs. I'm sure we've seen enough of that off the pitch in the last 24hrs to last a lifetime, but what about the players? In particular Berbatov and Bent. If I was a player, I'd have to side with one or the other. Not both.

Berbatov

Yes he's our best striker, but his actions on the bench at Newcastle were strange considering a) it was only one game b) he already knew Jol was under a lot of pressure.

Then I see his attitude during the pre-game huddle today - he was only going through the motions and couldn't wait for it to be over (watch his leg hovering away). Then did anyone see the smirk afterwards (a la Kemsley/Levy) and see him shake his head as if to say "what a load of **** or Martin who?"

Bent

Has been poor yes, but at least he hasn't thrown his toys out the pram when he hasn't played. People are saying he was a board-buy and not BMJ as Levy and co. know Berbatov will be off soon. Well this seems to have done two things
1. Make Bent feel second-best (used to being no.1 at Charlton) and affect his game
2. Accelerate Berbatov's thinking that he'll be off to Man U soon (look at the form, once he's made his mind up that's it, and the board buying Bent may well have done that. It's like they rate him so highly that they have a contigency for him leaving already - a bit perverse really and it doesn't show a lot of faith in him wanting to stay does it?

I reckon most players are on Bent's side (Jenas, Defoe, Zakora, Hudd) and only a few world-class players like Keane and Robbo side with Berbatov.
The Bent's of this world stick by eachother but never really make it to the top - the Berbatov's are polite enough but don't really care who manages the team as long they play and get the headlines.

Spot on, and you're one of them.

Bent hasn't been given a real chance yet....so to say his poor because we paid 16.5M is stupid. Yes the fee was ridiculous but I believe if given a chance with someone providing a steady supply of good service Darren Bent will score goals.

Berbatov IMO has been hugely disappointing along with Dawson, Robinson and Chimbonda these 4 players in particularly should have a real look at themselves.

For me, I think there is a definite divide and certain cliques. Defoe, Bent, Chimbo, Zokora and The Hudd look very close.

Im still hurting after last night, but Jol had lost the dressing room it seems.
