I'm going to suspend judgment on this question until the transfer window closes.

I have no doubt that it will make a huge difference to where we will finish in the table this season.

On the strength of the first two games, no, probably not. But then I could have said exactly the same thing this time last season and that turned round sharply, so anything is possible I suppose. Although being that this was always going to be a bit of a transitional season for us, I would say the odds are probably in favor of a finish outside the CL places. Looking forward to the Europa League though, I think we'll give it a good go.

We need to improve sharpish if we are to make top 4, personally I dont think we will. Top 6-7 this year, we need to get real here.

Last season there seemed to be a general consensus on here that we were 2 or 3 players (I'm sure many said 1 or 2) from having a title-contending squad.

Has losing Modric really relegated our squad to being too weak to fight for 4th?

Have Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle really strengthened their squads beyond ours?
AVB messed up last week (V Newcastle) and against WBA but we are 'inches' away from being a strong side....and...with or without AVB we still have the 'challenge' of dealing with Levi's actions which are stranger with each passing hour.
I still believe that, in the proper climate, we can 'easily' hold our own behind Shitty, Manure, and maybe Chelski. There are a few better teams around (Swansea) but, IF we can eliminate the 'old style' THFC (loosing vital points....for whatever reason) we can manage 4th. A few additions will help (Modric-like replacement, CF, GK and CD) and can see us prosper (again). COYS!

I think a lot will depend on who else we get in over the next week but I can see 5-6th this season

I voted no... But think with two or three signings it could well be a different story come sept!

Not because of us but Chelsea look stronger.
I think Everton will do better and possibly Liverpool I konow who arsenal have lost but this time they have good replacements.

No chance of top four at all 6th or 7th the very best we can hope for.

Said 5th or 6th weeks ago, don't see any reason to change that opinion.

I've always felt this would be a transition season since AVB took over.
And what a transitional season! Last time we had a full season of transition we came 14th - shows how far we've come imo (and the majority of that is down to the long term vision of a fashionably unpopular bald man).

As our present squad stands at the moment then 4th wont be ours, I do feel that it will be a case of having a season long bedding in period, We must remember that Avb needs to shape the squad and that will involve numerous player movements, I have faith that if given the financial backing (seemingly not quite happening to our liking just yet), Then Avb will get things right and season 2013/14 will see massive improvements in terms of significant league positions.

4th spot seems a long way off. Only saving grace is that Arsenal look pony too.

Have a feeling Liverpool will be up there, and Cheski will be battling with the Manchester clubs.

I really think we blew our chances last season.

will hold powder till after next friday but as of this moment we dont stand a chance of 4th..

arsenal are piss poor without rvp but will still finish above us because of our mentaility

i can also see everton and liverpool finish above us too.

i dont see newcastle as threat as i think one or 2 of their players will leave newcastle either this window or january for cl teams.

we will be lucky to finish 7th

we fuck up every year without fail. whole club is riddled with money men , chancers and flash harries... i would argue no real hard core football men at club who want spurs to be the very very best they can and it shows.

No and I don't care, although it I would be very happy to a point of having a wank fest if we did.

With way that ManC, Chelase and other big clubs have gone crazy and mental on wages, I think it is more important to develop real top quality players through our youth system. This is what I believe AVB and Levy have in mind, with a little spending spree to keep us going till we can start reaping the benefits of the youth system.

Developing a system like AVB's from youth to senior squads is the only way I feel Spurs will be able to keep challenging. Until such a time when someone powerful enough actually decides to do the right thing. This is why I think Levy got shot of Harry, as Harry was not clearly able to do this and his whoring for the England job was the final nail in the coffin.

But then who knows, only Levy knows the real reason, we supporters only have speculation.
