I've always thought Roberts was making a stand against racism in the game as a whole, as he always seemed to comment after international events, as well as domestic events.
The interview above however leads me to believe that he thinks there is racism within our country, which I myself have never thought. This concerns me and I think it is a bit unfair to attack our governing bodies on the subject of racism rather than UEFA or FIFA who seem far bigger perpetrators. He talks about "inequality" and I think that is an unrealistic objective, women and homosexuals for example are much worse off than black people in terms of coaching managing and playing.
Have I just mis-read what he is trying to say? He seems extremely vague in that interview. I think the fight against racism should be aimed at UEFA and FIFA not the FA, as it weakens our case. They will see it as just as bad and respond to our criticism with Roberts' criticism of the FA.
