An incredible forward, but his reputation will always be tarnished by his diving and cheating

Good riddance.

Not sure about everybody else, but I'll remember him more for his consistent diving and cheating.

He is the definition of a big game player, theatrics aside, he is quite a unique CF.

He's leaving because he wants to earn his final big pay day, hasn't he amassed enough over the last 8 years on Romans payroll, I mean he's not exactly skint is he?

I read somewhere saying that he donates a lot to charity, so maybe he rolled around like man trying to compete for the annual roly poly awards in the name of the poor?

I'm glad he's gone, although this will now free up their wage bill and give them even more ammo to poach ahem, certain players.

He's currently funding the building of a £3m hospital in The Ivory Coast, and that's not the first thing he's done there either. There are much worse ways to spend a crooked oilgarch's ill gotten gains!

Was he crap for his first 18 months or anything? I remember him being derided and then coming good.

Fair enough, kudos to him in that respect, not many footballers follow that trend. I'm now wondering if I'd have admired him if he'd spent it all on fast loose women, narcotics and the like?

If only!! If I remember correctly he missed half of his first season through injury and still managed a good lot of goals.

I agree that he will be remembered to a certain degree for his constant diving (which he mostly got away with despite everyone knowing he was a serial diver!) but what I wouldn't give to have a forward like him at Spurs. He is certainly not the best to grace the Premiership but an unbelievable forward with an instinctive ability to find the net. Chelsea were lucky to keep him for so long and, should he choose to stay, I really can't see Torres filling his shoes too well.

If I remember rightly I think Adebayor does a lot of charity with his wage and that being one of the main reasons he doesn't want to take a pay cut.

Indeed he was derided in this period due to his first touch, which was something similar to a battleship! Once he sorted that out he's been the lifeblood of that team.
