Not particularly worried by this latest report. We've had loads throughout the summer saying he's going to this club and then that club. Why are we suddenly reading a French paper's story with no quotes as gospel, especially when Bernard himself has said he wont think about his future until after Wednesday night?

I am begining to hate all this insessant value for money talk, too many people are being influenced by Levy's take on things. Remember he is a qualified accountant and thinks like one.

We should be thinking more about what a player can add to our team. How they will make us better.

We dont have to think value, Levy does it for us.

so in other words us fan should hope for a bid for Messi and let Levy worry about the logistics of it?

surely it's better to live someone closer to reality?

As a forum I think this is where we can afford to dream a little,, too discuss our hopes and aspirations.

The club have to live within their means and take financial decisions into account, they have to be realists, we can afford to dream.

People need to prepeare for the possibility that Bernard may want to play in Manchester, clearly then he would avoid signing for Spurs choosing instead to spend a couple of acclimatisation seasons at their feeder club, you never know he might even get a gap year in Barcelona thrown in. :)

John Cross (themirror writer) : @johncrossmirror: #afc Arsene Wenger denied Arsenal signing Bernard when I asked him. 'That report is not true.'

is that dreaming that normally depresses us in the end!! :)

We need only worry about how we perform. Couldn't care less what other teams do. Now that we've signed Chadli, it's not likely we'll go after Bernard.

You know what..

if we dont end up signing this little midget i would be gutted i must say.

However, as long as he doesnt go to those wank stain gooners then i am happy :)

So after hearing wenger stating that there is nothing in the alleged bernard deal i think now it must be between us, porto and liverpool.

I am now very quietly confident that we are in with a BIG shout.

Yep, value for me is actually signing the better player.

That same paper also claimed hazard to us and he even played in france. They might get alot right but dont take everything they print as gospel.

in fairness, i do think we'd have gotten hazard if we hadn't absolutely choked away cl football.

Unfortunately l'equipe ate usually pretty spot on with their info

Especially in regards to arsenal. We shall see. Btw I think bernard will be immense in the league a MASSIVE upgrade on both podolski and Walcott, but as others have said not really what arsenal need.
If he goes to arsenal so be it. We're supremely strong and with a good striker and a bit of luck with injuries we could go all the way.

Edit. Just read the Wenger quote. L'equipe not as reliable as I thought

JJ said we are in "in a big way" for Bernard. So I expect us to go all out for him. Could be our Hazard/Mata/Cazorla etc
