with Kane, Hojbjerg and Sanchez off if this club can’t get the likes of Silva, Eze and Orban then we might as well call it a day calling ourselves a big club.

I’m already sceptical if Ange will even play Gio and Maddison together as I suspect he will prefer a more B2B in that role, after all he’s been playing Sarr and Skipp there. If we got Eze that would be 3 top quality players rotating for one position. We also should not be bringing him in at the expense of Gio. I know that Eze can play LW but Solomon and Son are both best there.

Only way I can see this happening is if we’re planning on playing him at LW and playing Sonny through the middle.

But as others have said, we’re much better off buying a top class winger.

Son then we convert to playing as a striker, which myself and many others think he is actually far more suited to than he is playing as a winger in Ange's system.
Son's main strengths now are his elite finishing off of either leg and his willingness to run in behind and stretch defence's. This is exactly what Ange want's from his strikers.
Unfortunately the day's of Son skinning players on the wings in 1v1's seems to be over, he is not good at receiving the ball to feet and is not great at working short interplays in triangles. These are all the most crucial traits of an Ange winger.

So by buying Eze and converting Son to striker, we save ourselves having to buy an elite striker and also a rotational '8'.
This then would leave us with plenty money to be able to buy Orban and loan him back out, buy an elite CB like Antonio Silva, and I would hope enough to buy a top RW to compete with Kulusevski.

It just makes so much sense to me.

Would I rather spend basically the entire Kane funds on Ansu Fati and Gallagher or spend around half of that on Eze and have a better player for both positions?

I don’t know exactly how Eze fits into the squad, but at least he’s obviously the level of quality we need while a lot of other links are bets on long-term potential that may or may not pan out.

Lots of inaccuracy in that John. Sorry. A lot of that simply isn't the case.

I do agree if we paid £50m for Eze that would be a crying shame, but it's hardly unheard of in the football world - it would be good for us to return to investing in youth when they're young (Udogie, Sarr, Philips, Veliz will hopefully prove great examples of that).

Love all this but doubt we’d buy, Eze, Obran a CB AND a RW, if so then 1000% like your plan, but I think we’d forgo the RW and see Solomon as cover there and have Eze and Perisic + Gil when he’s back as our LW options.

We shall see.
