If Palace sells Eze they will find themself in a relegaton battle this season.

Losing Zaha and Eze with Olise out would be a disaster.

Will Hughes to step in as a number 10 to supply a poor front 3 of Schlupp, Eduoard and Ayew? Ouch.

Exactly.

Olise is going to Chelsea by the looks of it so there is zero chance Palace sell Eze.

Agree. He might fancy the move but I just can’t see a world where it happens this window with the amount of work we have to do in other areas.

Honest to god why would he want to go to Chelsea (apart from money).

Just stockpiling players and will have a huge amount of competition for places.

I think we’ll look again next summer when he only has a year left.
And at the moment he doesn’t want to sign a new contract. I think his contract coupled with our lack of current need for another no 10 (personally I don’t think we should be looking to turn him into a full time LWF as I think he’s much better as a 10) would make this one better to wait it out. Yes there may be more interest but you would think our Base links would put us in pole position much like it did with Maddison.

Eze is a standout target, but Palace won't budge without a compelling offer. While Palace likes some of our players, swaps are unlikely. Negotiations should be separate. Securing Eze this window might be to hard to do .

We need to ‘give them’ N’dom. tangy and Eric. Would that be a (bitter) sweetener? I recall Roy suggesting he was peeved at lack of ins…

Big relief that we've been planning all along as we knew Kane was leaving

We can’t control the fact that Palace is not in a position to sell.

Having lost Zaha and with Olise facing what is likely a lengthy absence through injury, they’d be putting themselves at risk of relegation if they sold Eze now. They could be at risk of relegation even with him if Olise misses the whole season.

Going back in for him next summer when he’s got a year left on his contract seems much more doable.

Eze would absolutely shine in this system. Imagine him out there today instead of Skipp for example, linking with Maddison and Bissouma

Edit: Certainly not at £70-80m though oof.

Right now I don’t think we will go to the heights to get him price quoted around 70-80 million area .

I hope this is because they club want to spend big on a defender and a forward and not being cheap. We have just got £100m for Kane and Hojbjerg is also probably off. It would be nice to see some ambition considering we have just lost one of our greatest ever players.

Yeah this is a very tough deal to do. As has been mentioned, they would want around £75m for him. I believe they have an interest in both Spence & Tanganga which could be helpful, but it's a very tough one.
