CB and forward are bare minimum. Which is why we’ll probably get one at best. Always just fall short

Sarr has had a handful of good appearances but lets not be those fans that massively overrate our own players after a recent good game. Sarr is also very different to Eze so comparing them doesn't really help anyone in deciding whether we should sign Eze or not.
Nah don't care what anyone says, Sarr is a gun and I'd take him over Eze every day of the week, twice on sundays.

Yes, different they play different positions, but I only made my post cause someone said "Would be great in the sarr position for us".

Eze untouchable apparently

I’m glad he’s untouchable for now tbh because we don’t need him right now but if we get into Europe again next season that will change and we would definitely be one of the favourites to sign him with a year left on his deal and him being a London boy. He seems grounded going by his route to the top level, he’s done it the smart way, so you’d think he may see us as a good next step

Agreed. Next summer, we may also need to replace Gio, when he will only have one year left on his deal.

Next year will be too late, we will be out bid by half a dozen teams, same goes for Fergusson

Possibly. He doesn’t really fit in the team right now unless we were to move Son centrally and he played LW though. Seems Ange has asked Sarr to get forward a lot though, so perhaps he could be very useful in that 8 role he’s playing. He’d definitely be an improvement on those two positions, he’s definitely class, but it’s probably not the best use of funds when we badly need a proper winger or ST upgrade before the window shuts. I wouldn’t say no though

I really don't rate Sonny as a 9. He's much more dangerous cutting in from either side but he doesn't have most of the attributes to play in the middle imo.

As soon as Ferguson went to Brighton he was out of our reach. They develop all their players so they either sell for maximum price or they fail and you don't want them anyway.

I’m looking at it more from a point of view of Eze LW and Son ST might be better than Son LW and Richy ST. Still not really ideal though like you say and I’d prefer we just bring in a proper striker. Like @Ghost Hardware has said above Eze won’t be worth what Palace demand as a fee for him anyway, so it’s just not really a good use of any funds we have to strengthen our front line

I guess it depends how Ange ultimately wants us to play. He had Celtic pinging the ball around and didn't really rely on typical striker goals. There's been signs of it here too and I've been left wondering a few times why shots weren't taken. It's early days yet though and everybody's on a steep learning curve. Son might be really good as a 9 in Ange's system. Who knows?

This is a much higher level though, I don’t think it’s wise to compare the two and we won’t get away with not being clinical at this level. I don’t feel confident in any of our current starting front 3 developing the real lethal streak we will need to put away tougher opponents that allow us minimal chances. You definitely need a killer or two in your attack at the highest level and currently I think Maddison is the only proper killer we have in terms of really having huge end product. One player we can consistently rely on to be very clinical won’t be enough

Who said they are asking 100m ?
Can’t remember which journo it was but one was saying on a podcast that they would be looking for over that to sell him at this point in the window. Romano also said Palace consider him “untouchable” at the moment.
