This is looking a bit stupid now. We clearly need good CB’s for the start of the season and even if we buy tomorrow we have to rush them in. What is it about this club and leaving big obvious holes to exploit. Rest of the team is more than workable but we have a giant mess at CB.

not a word passed my lips!

Don’t tell me, you’re happy if the current lot all stay, as ‘squad options’? 🎪
Nope, I've never once said that.

But I understand in all likelihood only maximum of 3 of Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Tanganga and Rodon will leave. If two had to stay for me it would be Dier and Davies as they are as good as the others, but have leadership qualities on top.

In an ideal world they will be 4th and 5th choice CB's come September after Romero, Tapsoba and VdV (or able equivalents). That's not accepting mediocrity, it's being a realist.

an ideal world? I’d much prefer to put Dorrington and this new kid from Blackburn in as 4 and 5, playing a 2 in just 3 comps.

You think we sign VDV and Tapsoba?

Might as well begin dusting off your at least we tried, not our fault sign now

Yeah that's a great idea. Chuck a couple of 18 year-olds without a minute of top flight football between them in against Premier League attackers. That wont obliterate their confidence and stunt their development in the slightest.

Top work. (y)

It'll depend on whether they have a good replacement lined up and we are prepared to get close to what they want.

This would have been killed ages ago if they were reluctant

Romero, Emerson, VDV, Tosin would be my expectation.

Then the kids.

Can’t agree you look solely at the downside risks of playing time opportunity. You’re showing an unintended streak of pessimism there

Hold on, you wanted Dorrington and the young kid from Blackburn ahead of Dier, and now you're sticking a right back in front of him as well ?

I'd play Levy ahead of Dier. More aggressive when in the contact zones.

Tapsoba starting in Leverkusen friendly today.

Let the meltdown commence 👀
We're playing players we know we're selling. Would rather he's match fit if we do buy. Same as anyone buying Lo Celso would prefer him match fit.

I get that you get this, I'm just trying to get ahead of the discourse...
