Our away support is second to none and you would never hear them booing. In fact they pretty much "support" for the whole 90minutes whether we are playing badly or not.

Adebayor is spot on! Our home support is terrible. I spend most of my time in South Upper, I was recently in Block 40, Row 3 and was sitting in amongst seasoned season ticket holders who spend most of the match chatting about their week and occasionally glanced at the game, saw a misplaced pass and spent 10 minutes shouting vitriol at that player and that he should be taken off. Most of this vitriol was aimed at Eric Dier FFS.

It is these kind of supporters which are the problem!

These are the same type of people who give you funny looks if you try to get a song going. They're like a cancer in football, not just at Spurs either.

Exactly. The last time I remember the lane properly rocking (don't go every week though) is when we were 1-0 down vs Chelsea under AVB and then we scored twice. Was in the south upper though so can't comment for elsewhere in the ground but it was mental.

I heard booing from a few last year at West Brom (after we went 3 down) and Liverpool (when we went 4 down) last year but you're definitely right about there being more support away from home. I think what helps is that the few that do turn up away games that moan and groan (and there are definitely a few) are drowned out by the majority that want to get behind the team - the complete opposite happens at home games.

On top of that there are other things that bother me about the Lane. I go to about 75% of the away games and what I don't see there is people leaving 10 minutes before the end, sitting and chatting like they're at the opera and coming back 10 minutes late for the second half with a hot-dog and bottle of fanta.

I understand that not everyone wants to turn up and shout their lungs out and that some want to just sit and enjoy the game, but there are some people who don't even seem to care about anything. They turn up, buy a programme, have a chocolate bar, chat about their mortgage application through the game and then fuck off 10 minutes before the end so that they get home in time to watch the Strictly results. I just don't understand why these people bother going.

They irritate almost as much as those that just turn up and shout abuse at the players. I suppose they aren't being as actively negative, but they are still a waste of a ticket.

Adebayor is right - the booing has to stop.
Guys, it never used to be like this.
We used to sing 'what a load of rubbish' when the players underperformed.
And 'you don't know what you're doing', at the manager and 'spend your f.ing money' to the board.

Not really, the fundamental difference is that Ade used to play for the Arse ( and despite what they say a lot of Spurs supporters hate him because of that) and Hugo is the greatest thing since sliced bread and can do no wrong.

Well that might be the case with some, but not for me.

I really appreciate Adebayor when he's putting in the effort, he's practically unplayable when he's in that zone. What I think is a crying shame is that he doesn't want it enough. The guy could be one of the best CFs in the world if he wanted it more on a consistent basis. Ok he probably wouldn't be here if that were the case but its still a valid point.

I find him immensely frustrating because I do think his attitude holds him back. That's nothing to do with his past, its to do with his mentality. And many City and Arsenal fans have felt the same.

There is such disparity in some of his performances. I mean everyone can have good days and bad, but its honestly like he's a completely different player at times. And recently I think his good days are becoming less and less. You couple that with the timing of the comments and I'm not surprised that some responded the way they did, even though he definitely has a point.

He's gone.

Dead man walking.

Then the rebuilding can start.

Worst case scenario he lingers around like a bad fart drawing more wages and really alienating the fans and players like we've never seen before.

Could cripple us for years if that is the case.

Fair enough and I am the same, but there are a lot who can not get over who he used to play for and the same thing happened to Gallas when he was here.

I told some **** a few rows in front of me to shut up on Sunday after he laid into Townsend - "Townsend you're shit, fuck off you ****". Now I'm not Andros's biggest fan, but the lad has come through our club and bleeds lilywhite. He has a bit of flair and always wants to do well - he is exactly the sort of player that deserves our support through thick and thin. I just don't get the mentality of quite a few 'supporters' around me who do nothing but moan for 90 minutes. Numerous times I tried to get a simple 'come on you Spurs' going on Sunday but no-one wanted to know. The negativity is really depressing me so God knows what it must be like for the players on the pitch!

A couple of seasons ago when we drew 2-2 with Everton I got in an argument with some idiot who stood up in the 85th min when Everton had a goal kick and said "do some fucking running Adebayor". He was probably our best player that game + he scored but the thing with a section of our fans is it seems they have their opinions and nothing will change that.
Our fans are really hateful for no reason.
Superb post. By coincidence that Everton game was the last time I was at the Lane. A guy in front of me was chatting the whole game with a bloke behind me and several were on mobiles and also not watching the game when we were searching for an equaliser. Probably they were posting on a website that Ade needed to be dropped.
But as you say people here have their agendas about Rose, Ade and Townsend. There are many more waiting to attack Harry as well.

Mousa Dembele has told the media he is bemused to why he isn't playing, with Pochettino giving him no explanation. #THFC

I don't know Mousa- maybe you're just not that good.

How about you shut the fuck up and ask your boss instead of being a prick and airing dirty laundry.
