Spot on!!
Spot on!!
Dier is actually a worry for me. Not his performances as they were top draw but he went down in the Slovakia game and looked a bit weird as though he wasn't sure where he was. Now this @tommyt has said about him being ill prior to the Iceland game. I hope the medical staff do some stringent tests on him when he gets back to the club.
This can't be ignored, at all.Rabbits in headlights.
Spurs 5 finished this season at Stamford Bridge,
Anything else was an illusion.
Is anyone else worried about how the England shambles will affect us? We supplied 5 of last nights starting line up and no one played particularly well. You could visibly see Kane's confidence crumbling and they might get vilified in the press and face a bit of public backlash.
I really hope we don't suffer because of Hodgson's ineptitude and we can hit the ground running next season.
Think the club should give them 6-8 weeks off even if it means missing the start of the season let them all fully recover physically and mentally from the disappointing end to our campaign and the whole England debacle.
Arguably our 2 best performances of the season (3-0 v Man Utd and 4-0 v Stoke) came after the Arsenal game. I would say it was the Chelsea game that ended our season mentally. This can't be ignored, at all.
Poch really has his work cut out, the team literally crumbled at the end of last season, Arsenal 2-2 seemed to be the making, and what happened at Chelsea was just frankly, beyond ridiculous.
The boys aren't mentally strong enough, how you bring that through in training, I literally have no idea on, but it showed with England.
Regardless of the lack of formation and service, both Alli and Kane played terribly in all 3/4 games they were involved in, that last game, Kane's touch, delivery and everything else just left him. He went from being one of the best strikers in the prem, to looking championship class in the euro's...
Positives on that, no club will want to buy him off the back of those euro performances, but Poch has his work cut out with those boys now.
Properly need to reflect and learn on the end of last season.
Yes we had literally every side wanting to beat us, yes we got laughed at. Do you think they'd suddenly be clapping us on if we were to be top for a long period in the league?
Thats pretty much the price to pay, you don't become the nations favourite team for winning the league, you become more hated (last season with leicester I believe was a bit of a freak on that).
Over the course of the tournament, out of the 3 worst England players, non were from Spurs (Rooney, Sterling & Hart).
I can't believe so many people are trying to connect England's shit show of a performance with our crap end to the season.

England did shit because we had a shit coach who hadn't even figured out what tactics or formation he wanted to use, let alone line ups, when the competition started. He had had 4 years to figure it out FFS.

So Eric D was reporting himself to be ill prior to the Iceland game but Roy decided to play anyway (according to a few tabloids).
Roy Hodgson is a yes man and a clown of the highest order...and so will the next manager unless the FA is shaken up.
Blame Roy? Not really, but he's getting the grief. I'd focus my energies towards the ones who appointed him if I actually gave two f####.

Actually Rooney played well except the last game. Despite being played out of position by that twat of a manager.
I agree he should not have played in that position but having been put there I thought he did OK. Having said that I also agree his main tactic seemed to be a cross field pass to one of the full backs. He did slow the game down. Compare France's midfield against Iceland to ours and we see the difference. Actually I now realise I agree fully with you and have argued against myself. I will go and disagree my own original post !Sorry Rooney was poor. It's not totally his fault though. How Woy let Englands all time leader goal scorer play so deep didn't make sense also Imo Rooney has one pass like Gerrard before him cross field diagonal
