What a fuck up.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8682143.stm

Beckham has been so good as "ambassador" so far, that he appears to have screwed it up at the final moment. Dialogue was poor and even Blatter had a pop at the word "passion" which was cringingly overused by Beckham. Someone should have given him a script to learn!

As for titling the "bid book" 2018-2022, The FA has just handed FIFA a get out clause. Its like saying "well if we can't have 2018 can we have 2022 please sir?" This implies half hearted commitment to 2018.

Hopefully Beckhams mere presence will allow FIFA to see beyond these gaffe's.

Use Beckham as the face of English football, not the voice! That said, Blatter is a ****.

The fact that it is "bid book 2018-2022" is because they're allocating both tournaments at the same time. It's not a half-hearted commitment, there are two tournaments up for grabs so of course we should bid for both and hope we get one of them.

But yea, Becks messed up there.

Blatter is an arrogant little shit.

But Beckham has never been the best public speaker, I would expect the FA to have prepared him better for that

Honestly I have never seen Beckham look more nervous and Blatter is a smarmy twat sometimes

However, 2018 will surely go to a European country as we all know Fifa won't give a southern hemisphere country 2018 as we have South Africa & Brazil to come.
