I know England won the U17 and U20 World Cup but I understand that youngsters don’t always become the players at the senior level we hope.
Watching many of the matches over the last few weeks it seems that even teams who have spluttered through, often seem to have far more technical players and a deeper squad of ‘close to’ world class players. If not world class, let’s say, very good players you’d want at Spurs.
Why don’t England?
We have Kane. We have a semi decent squad but you don’t look at England squad in awe. Looking at our team, People wouldn’t think that there are many players that could really do damage or are just at that level where other squads would worry.
We know English players cost too much and people say we don’t develop them at a young age the way some other countries do.
Am I wrong these days? Do we have reasons to be optimistic?
Of course, now I’ve said that, we will probably go onto the later rounds of the WC!!!
If you think things need to change, what exactly?
