We really don’t need to go through the whole blame game about that summer again! Everyone fucked up. Poch included. That isn’t in question.

I was gutted to see Poch leave but I knew that it was the right call.

As to any chances that anyone ‘gives’ Levy, it’s entirely moot anyway. He leaves only when he decides to leave. In the meanwhile, we just have to hope that he gets this summer far more right than wrong.
Or when Uncle Joe tells him he is sh*t and the time has come to move to a brand new position of "CEO Beverages NWHL"

Whoopee 10th richest club in the world but 19th out of 20 in the net spenders list in the premier league so we are really punching above our weight but a massive disappointment in my world .
ENIC can always find money to spend on bricks and mortar lets hope they find the money to get rid of Jose even if to means a nil spend in next years first transfer window . If you keep Jose and give him money to spend I think I will lose the will to turn up for games until he is gone .

Sacking Poch was the right call.

Hiring Jose was the wrong call.

Not because it lacked ambition (quite the opposite) but rather because there was no solid analytical thought behind it. No consideration of Jose's suitability - for the club generally or for the players more particularly. Instead, just an unthinking gawp at his honours list.

It boils down, yet again, to the lack of a unifying football philosophy that the best run football clubs have. We have a state of the art stadium and training ground. But we sorely lack a state of the art footballing structure and concomitant personnel.

That ought to be Levy's next roll of the dice. Not gonna hold my breath, though.....

I agree sacking Poch was the right call but with all the talk of spurs needing to win something from literally everyone, hiring a coach who has won trophies with every club he’s managed, who we didn’t have to pay compensation for in the middle of the season was a logical appointment. There were no other top class managers on the market at that point. And most other available managers would have been seen as lacking ambition or as project managers.

I was totally against appointing Mourinho for various reasons but I absolutely see the logic in Levy making the appointment.

Same people who are now saying bringing Mou was a bad decision would cry about lack of ambition from the board with Mourinho going to Arsenal and winning FA Cup for example

Last season our net spend was 3rd highest in the league and this season 9th.

In the last 2 seasons we are actually among the highest for net spend.

My figures quoted were on the last 10 years . Dont get me wrong I am not having a go at ENIC and or Levy I just dont think we will ever challenge long term spending of the uber rich it is just a fact and under such circumstances as a club overall we have overachieved .
It is just that the promise of moving on to greater things since the Jol / Redknapp /Poch days is such a letdown and I can't help but lash out with my frustration having said all that if the football was a good watch I would not complain but the fact is the football is awful .
At the end of the day I dont care if we never spend one pound on transfers as long as I can go to matches and enjoy what I am watching .
I hope we employ a progressive intelligent manager who pays with a possession based team with a structure of play that the players can buy into . Honestly that was just a cheap dig at ENIC because they in reality are doing OK
