Agree with that, but that has little to do with your point that ENIC by simple virtue of being an investment company is a good thing.

My point was really that being an investment company didn't preclude them from investing in the playing side.

Totally and completely true!
For me the failure is in the hiring of managers / DOF / coaches etc some bad decisions have been made on the letting go of players such as Walker -Peters and Townsend who have both been stellar for their clubs .Also our dealings in the transfer market are not very good Failures to get the likes of Fernandes and Grealish to name but two have been IMO mistakes compared to shelling out for the likes of Ndombele as I say just a personal opinion .
But what must been remembered is we are on the cusp of being able to afford top quality players as from what I have seen of the stadium with what is planned such as boxing bouts / rugby union / pop concerts / American football / etc the stadium has a licence to produce big bucks for our club . Total 16 events which must surely if the Joshua fight is anything to go by produce for the club 5 to 6 million pounds x 16 is a rough estimate 80 to 96 million pounds .
The football matches have been said to earn 800.000 pounds over roughly 3 hours with the longer period of these other events (probably ) twice as long then its not unreasonable to double that figure .
On top of that you have the fee for the use of the stadium . Do not underestimate the value of being able to take drinks to your seat at these events . You may see all this as minor things but I believe we have a money making machine on our hands which can only help to fund transfers as always just an opinion .
So for all ENIC failings the stadium is not one of them in fact its a great success .

I guess ENIC knew about the ESL plans since before that offer and figured that if the ESL did come to pass it would elevate the value of the club even further. Can only laugh at that now!!

Remember the Green and Gold movement at Man U a few years back. The whole crowd was behind it, it was loud, it was vociferous, it was big news, even David Beckam offered tacit support.
The Glasers shrugged their shoulders, yawned and carried on for another 10 years. Sadly, I feel that is what Daniel Levy and ENIC will do, no matter how much we protest.
Unless and until someone offers £3 billion + we are stuck with them. Doesnt mean we should make our feelings known though

If it's true ENIC turned down 2.4 bn, that's another sliding doors moment. Not as big as the alleged one that saw Chelsea get RA instead of us.

That's not a missed opportunity, that's a dodged bullet in my opinion.
I don't want to be owned by an oil rich sugar daddy, and ultimately a lot of the criticisms of ENIC come from the people that do.

Yep, fair enough. It's a fundamental divide over ENIC. I, and many others, want success and am happy if it takes an oil baron to provide it.
