Eredivisie Euro spots

I was just trawling through the leagues earlier today and noticed that the Dutch league have essentially 13 euro spots. mg:

1st: CL spot
2-5: CL play-offs
6-9: UEFA cup play-offs.
10-13: Intertoto plays-offs.

Leaving 14-18 to stave off relegation.

I just wondering how come they have so many? I guess I'll just google it.

Anyway, just a small observation... Yes, i'm bored.

It's an incredibly unfair system.

Kind of like the play-off system England has, only on a much larger, more complicated scale.

they're planning to change it next year because the 'bigger' teams don't want to play for their euro spot after regular season (in the play-offs).
