Nah, when you paid thousands of pounds to watch players like Eric Dier shit up your team on a weekly basis you don't feel like moderating your language.

In reality though saying he's a shit footballer is hardly the worst thing, i've gone into more detail explaining why his technical aspects are not up to scruff but nobody wants to read that. They just want to respond to the idea hes bad with 'OMG he's been loyal for years, i mean nobody has wanted to buy him but hes been so loyal, hes a good guy who doesn't fall out of nightclubs, he play for England a bunch when they were terrible and yes he just like so reasonable, Son was bad too, lets try to coach him up'

He is a bad player, hes been bad for quite a while. You pay 1k a year to watch him fuck around it's upsetting. I have no problem with people getting upset with him online or at games, you play for a big team and you underperform it's what's gonna happen.

I just assume its because its summer, far from first xi games and there is some Ange optimism going around that people are allowing the idea that Dier being in the squad is a good thing but it isn't.

You've had it explained to you a number of times now why posters object to the language you use about Dier. Why not try reflecting a bit on that rather than getting so defensive and doubling down on it.

Because your responses are just coming across as a perfect example of the toxic entitlement that we see nowadays in many fans. Paying money doesn't give anyone the right to use insulting language and abuse players.

No one has said you have to like Dier. You've just been asked not to insult him. That's a pretty reasonable request i think.

Not good enough perhaps.
‘Shit player’ no.

We all move on, let’s all stop the bitching about this and see what happens.

From memory most had a shit season.
I know its different positions and stuff though rather keep him over someone like Ndombele.
I don't think the amount you paid makes a difference to the dissatisfaction
Agree he is shit and can not be starting for us next season.

Or maybe Diers form bought down the moral of the team, as I saw so many mistakes last season from him. How are you going to feel confident going into a match knowing he’s starting? He’s a good lad, but he’s not a good footballer. The one thing which is so important for a CB is natural positioning, and he just doesn’t have that at all.

We’ve reached the peak. The whole team being shit is entirely down to Dier. Congratulations, you did it. Now, how to blame him for Russia invading Ukraine 🤔

Don’t be an idiot. I’m just saying he’s not good enough for a top 4 club, and makes too many mistakes. Also his positioning is always all over the place.

Yet he was heavily involved in us getting top 4..

You don't captain Sporting's youth group as an English outsider if you don't have something about you. You don't leave your family in Spain to go back to that academy if you don't care. You don't get given a chance in the first team under 20 for Sporting if you're "shit".

Honestly people should watch that documentary. It's a decent and enlightening watch. He's a smart intelligent person. Started his own business. Built his own farm.

Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen speak highly of him.

I don't really take note of fans opinions much anymore. But I'll listen to pros who know them more than anyone else after spending every day together for many years.

No, you didn’t just say that. Your whole post other than the last sentence was about how he is responsible for the team’s form. When it was pointed out that the whole team were terrible last year you said ‘Or maybe Dier’s form b(r)ought down the moral(e) of the team’. That’s your first line. You’re so desperate to find fault you are pinning the whole teams form on him because you ‘can’t be confident with him in the team’. Why they were confident enough to come 4th with him in the team the year before, or the multiple other times we made CL with him isn’t clear. Why the whole team wasn’t brought down by Hugo, or Son, or Kulu, or Richy or any of the others who massively underperformed isn’t clear either. The only thing that’s clear is you can’t think objectively about Eric Dier at all

if I remember correctly he was injured for about 7 games, during the peak period, and didn’t sanchez displace him
And we didn’t concede for number of games. Anyway my simple argument is that he’s not a top 4 CB. I wouldn’t feel confident in a forward line if I had Dier in defence. Simple as that.

I’m not saying he isn’t intelligent, he’s just not good enough for a club that is trying to get top 4 every year, which is why nobody is in for him. I can tell the lad is extremely bright, and does a lot of grafting, but if he is starting next season I will be concerned.

One example:

we lost this game 2-1 last season at home to pool. If Dier didn’t make that mistake we would have taken a point or even a win. This is a morale killer!

And if he is starting next season that isn't his fault and shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him with.

I agree with the sentiment, but who knows with his injury behind him he might regain a bit of form and consistency. He’s nowhere near as bad as people cry about.

No you don’t remember correctly- in fact you couldn’t be further from the truth. He played 35 league games. Romero got injured for the last 3 games (including the arsenal game) and we kept 3 clean sheets with Sanchez, Dier and Davies as a back 3, you must have hated it. We lost 2 of the 3 games he missed (dreadful defeats to Southampton and Wolves) and conceded 7 goals in the 3 games he didn’t play and 33 in the 35 games he did. Thanks for perfectly illustrating my point though - you and Phil2.0 are so blinkered you literally make stuff up to justify your opinions

So every player in the Prem had as bad a season as Dier then?

Sorry if the word 'shit' is the wrong adjective? would you prefer awful, terrible or bad because all of them could have been used to describe his performance this season.
That wasn’t their point nor what they wrote!

It’s not just Levy - whole sections of the Spurs corporate team are so out of touch with the fanbase. Who thought now would be a good time to release an Éric Dier doc, he is among the most hated of players right now. Fairly or not, just not a wise move.
Most hated. That’s a bit strong!

People seem to forget how massive he was for us when Conte came in. He was consistently one of our best players. His positioning and distribution were elite. Kulusevski and Son also were absolutely brilliant. Is it a coincidence that all them three had a shocker of a season last year? I know Dier has had its ups and downs but it’s harsh to judge him on the season past as most of the team went through a huge slump, seemingly burned out by Conte’s methods/antics.

If Dier didn't make that mistake the game would have taken a completely different path. Absolute bollocks to predict a result when anything could have happened.

When it’s going well Dier is good, as soon as he makes a bad pass or two suddenly he looses his composure.

I think his a confidence player and we need someone with more mental strength.

Loris definitely didn’t help either with his flappy kicking
