Mental fatigue must play a part in his recent poor form. He has pretty much played every fucking minute in a position that requires full concentration.

Don’t know whether it can be explained by a lack of confidence but he now seems so nervous when he has the ball & as well as giving it away far too many times he also has a habit of giving it to someone else who is in a worse position, which puts them under more pressure than he was in the first place.

I think most CBs would struggle with years of passing out from the back starting with Lloris. The jitters become infectious when a few errors creep in unless the player is supremely confident on the ball.

Eric is a decent player, but that’s it. Back in the England squad because we haven’t got any top defenders. If Romero doesn’t play we should abandon playing out from the back.

Mate it's 90 minutes every three days
Mental fatigue?
Tell that to ICU nurses and care workers who put in long shifts for fuck all money.

It's a game of football.... please....

I think that some people have been desperate for Eric to have a bad run of games and for the team to lose so they can write the crap I’ve seen in this thread. The guy has played every game this season and clearly is knackered and needs to be rested. He’s been pretty much our best defender all season but let’s forget that and just that the last two games.

I think being called up by England changed his form. He does need a break though I agree. When we brought Lenglet in it was said he can play the central centre back role. I think it might be time to give him a try there for a game to rest Dier.

I think he needs a rest, in terms of footballing.
We can go:
Emerson - Romero - Lenglet (interesting)
Sanchez - Romero -Lenglet (least fave)
Romero - Lenglet - Davies (could work nicely, but slightly weak)

Was it a mistake to loan out Rodon?
No. Rodon isn't at the required level. He had plenty of opportunity in training under multiple managers to show it, and none of them wanted him in the team.

Dier is a good player, but is he better than what our competition has? Is he closer to Lisandro Martinez or Tyrone Mings? We all love him and appreciate his recent form (before the last two weeks), but we all know the honest answer.

The mistake was not strengthening either his or Davies' positions and hoping they'd both stay fit and in form for 60 games a year. Because both are average players when not in form as they're not good enough on the ball to bail themselves out of trouble when they're a bit slow.

How about we just abandon 3 at the back.

Apart from Romero I don't think any of our CB's are suited to a back-4. I haven't seen enough of Lenglet, but I thought he suffered playing there for Barca.

Davies, Dier and Sanchez in a back-4 are a definite no.

No . Because Rodon isn't good enough either. Seriously look at the level of players we have Davies Sanchez Doherty Emerson Dier Lloris. I mentioned Lloris because deep down we all know he has constant mistakes in his game.

I cannot agree until recently he has been outstanding and consistent.
Outstanding against lower level teams a bit like Kane has turned out to be...once the levels are higher Dier Lloris Davies Sanchez Doherty Emerson etc will find a way to F up
