Other than 'Football Insider' was is as reliable as my mum for football news, is there any credible info, if not why are people wishing him luck?

they've gotten a few youth/academy exclusives right over the years so they do have some connections at the club, whether that extends to the first team or not i don't know.

No wonder Dier has been hesitant to other offers/solutions if there have been ongoing talks with Bayern and they are a valid option.

Would be a wonderful opportunity for him.

The journo is Wayne Veysey who used to work for Goal. If I'm not mistaken, he used to have good connections and I'm sure one of our ITKs like JJ vouched for him back then.

The fact plettenburg has vouched for it now too. He is one of bayern's mouthpieces

If Dier does go to Bayern, it’s hard not to imagine Kane being a major factor. Do Bayern need to keep him happy? Why?

And did Kane advocate for Dier to start when he was here?

Bayern only have 3 CBs in the squad, they are looking for a 4th at the moment so i can see Dier on a loan (with the option to sign him for free in the summer if it works) as being ideal for them. If however they sell De Ligt as has been rumoured then they will look to go for a first team starter instead and maybe pull dier in as the 4th choice for free or on loan. I like the guy and think he has been a good pro but appreciate his movement is limited and he isnt good enough for a top 4 prem team so we need to try and upgrade on him. I would rather he goes here and has moderate success than go to a west ham and be average for an average team.

1. Think Chalobah is ahead of Dier for Bayern and Tuchel has worked with him previously (only issue is he's currently injured, so this may see Dier jump ahead in the queue).

2. I think the idea that Dier would fit the Bundesliga are well wide of the mark. Say what you want about the competitiveness, but the football there is highly technical and, while not as physical, it's played at a very high tempo, with (generally) aggressively high lines and speedy forwards. This style is not Dier's strong suit. He'd actually fit Serie A better as it's physical but slower.

3. I also agree that the personal attacks and disrespect he receives are out of order, especially as there was that minor illness (appendicitis, maybe?) where there seemed to be complications that kept him out longer than expected at the time. That plus the groin injuries just seemed to ruin whatever athleticism he had left.
He used to be mobile, but lost that and his technical ability couldn't compensate, but he has represented the club well and been a great servant to this club. He seems a great lad on and off the pitch and for all his shortcomings as a player at the highest level, he played with heart and passion, and fought for this club.
Amidst all the good years under Poch, in my opinion, the emergence of academy players helped to really strengthen our bond with the team. As did one of my favourite quotes by this young lad from Lisbon: "I hate people saying stuff about Tottenham."

If you’d said to me that Dier was off to Wolves, Forest, Luton or Fulham, I wouldn’t have been at all surprised.

Getting a move to Bayern would be phenomenal for him.
