I think there are numerous reasons why Eric is being considered by Bayern, but I have to say I think the main one will be that he's very close to Harry. So for a modest fee, they get a back up option that is capable and usable, who will help to keep Harry settled and happy. If Harry isn't there I doubt very much they look at him twice tbh.

Yeah the relationship with Harry is obviously a factor - think Dier was linked to Bayern a few years ago, around the same time United wanted him for £50m so maybe the hierarchy still like him...

Not sure I would go against Ange on this one. I don't think he needs to make up things - particularly when he has already said that Dier was free to leave - even with the potential Davies injury.
