I know there’s probably a good financial/legal reason for it, but intrigued how this 6 month loan with option to buy actually works in terms of us getting the €3-4m and the fact that his contract will be up in 6 months anyway so no need for the option….
The option to buy is their option from what it looks like. He's signed a 6 month loan deal with an option 1 year. So they're paying is £3.5m for the 6 month loan, then they have a further option to sign him for another year at no cost as he's out of contract anyway. It's their so basically he won't be a free agent in the summer if they choose to trigger the clause.

It’s a hard one with Dier, much like Lloris. Gave his best years for us, was a pivotal part of the team that got us so close. By all accounts sounds like a top guy off the pitch/behind the scenes too. The move is probably a couple of years too late, but what a move/chance for him. I think a fresh start, in a new league will really help him and given his continental upbringing hopefully he adapts easily. Wish him well and hope he finds success there and gets a move in the summer

Absolutely a club legend in my eyes. Doesn't suit Ange's system but he's never been anything but professional and always given his all. Never went hiding.

Him and Daws are very similar in a lot of ways. Both great players on their day but slightly limited overall, but they both just 'got it' and I'll always love them both for that. Good luck, Eric.

How is this off topic when it’s about the Eric Dier transfer?

Oh yea Eric will always be fully spurs. Hope he does well at Bayern and they sign him on a perm.

Hope he comes back to the club in a non playing role if he ever wants to. Just seems like such a nice, humble guy.

Great servant of the club. Probably time for the move but that shouldn’t take away a lot of good performances that got him an England call up. Wonder who the knobs who have been booing him will turn on now

Top bloke and fully COYS

Also just seems like a really really decent solid bloke.

From that first goal for us the winner away at West Ham playing right back I knew he’d have a great career for us.

364 appearances is MAD that’s a huge huge amount.

I loved 2 things about him most:
1) When he played CDM for us under peak Poch, I actually thought he was fantastic there for quite a while and it was a genius move by Poch
2) When he said in that interview that he hears what people say about Tottenham and he doesn’t like it and we are here to change that

Tottenham legend but right time to move on and hope it works out for him.

Would be mad if he and Kane won the CL tho! As long as they beat Arsenal along the way I’m fine with it.

All the best Eric. Times change and tactics change but there is no reason why he cannot do a decent job at Bayern. I hope so for him. 9.5 years at our club is a good achievement. Will be interested to see him hopefully getting some game time.
