We've got to go for this one, if only to be:

The 1st club to appear in a:
CL final
Cup Winners Cup* final
UEFA/EUROPA Cup final
EUROPA Conference final

* (which should be reinstated in my opinion)

Ticket prices on this competition will be interesting , I am expecting the club to pay us to attend the qualifying/group stages with free sausage rolls & Tottenham pie thrown in ...

Really don't understand the arrogance in people writing this off as not a major trophy or a tinpot comp.

There are some very decent teams already qualified for this, and some more good sides will drop into the competition. It will be a winnable tournament for us but one we will need to absolutely commit to at later stages to do so.

It's also about time UEFA offered a bigger variety of leagues opportunities for clubs to play in proper competition - the format is better than the old Cup Winners Cup, we'll get to play some potentially interesting new clubs instead of the same old lot we always end up against, it gives supporters more new locations to potentially travel to (hopefully), and it's a brilliant chance for us to work the squad properly and blood some young players.

Ultimately it represents a fantastic opportunity for the club to win real silverware, a European trophy and it should be an absolute priority for the club when we (hopefully) get to the later stages of the competition. We are not too big for this.

After winning the League Cup in 2018 De Bruyne stated he believed the win could be a big moment for their young team as "it will help in the future, if we reach finals or important games, to be steady".

That's the approach we need to adopt. The way Man City looks at the League Cup, the way Sevilla approaches the Europa League, we need to view the ECL as an opportunity rather than a hindrance. A squad involving the likes of Rodon, Tanganga, Reguilon, and Bergwijn winning some silverware has the potential to be a springboard for us.

Only two play off matches on 19th and 26th August. That is not as bad as this season.

We go all out to win it. The club needs to learn what it feels like to win a competition..
And as for "playing the kids' most of the squad are 'kids' when it comes to winning trophies.

Union Berlin from Germany, and either Villarreal or nobody from Spain depending on the Europa League final.

An extra motivation for Villarreal then!

Up until I realised how important the coefficient points are I wasn’t keen at all but looking at that it’s important to be in European competition. I just hope it doesn’t mean we keep a lot of the deadwood around to play in it. Play some of the better youngsters instead of sissoko, Sanchez, winks etc. We’ll be better off doing that in the long run.

What is the purpose of this competition? I'm a cynical old fuck so it seems to me to try and raise the prestige of Europa, by having a "lesser" competition below it.

I voted second option. Experiment early then bring out the 1st teamers if we get further in. We have a ton of young talent that would benefit from playing competitive matches. We can't moan about having an empty cabinet, and then decide that certain competitions are below us.

Definitely glad we're in this rather than out of Europe altogether. Let's go out and win the thing and get the 'no trophies' monkey off our back for a while. Yeah, it might be low prestige, but I honestly don't think we can afford to turn our noses up at silverware at this point.

Also, PL teams are going to be winning this thing every other year. I guarantee when Arsenal/West Ham/Leicester win this in coming seasons they'll be counting it as a proper trophy.

I have decided I am all-in for this. Going to full embrace and can't wait to see us play against Tre Penne, Dila Gori, Honka, and that team that has the train go past the stand. I'm now a European Conference League fanboy.

not a dig at you, i know you only pointed this out, this is more at the tweeter - not really sure what´s to ridicule about the stadium and the club. so it´s ok to bitch and whine against trustfunded clubs, but at the same time they´re laughing at a club which possibly makes the most of limited means as a poor club from arguably a poor region? and at least we have a chance to play against whichever club plays at that place (great stadium by the way), where have arsenal finished again?

oh well. arsenal fans.
