not a dig at you, i know you only pointed this out, this is more at the tweeter - not really sure what´s to ridicule about the stadium and the club. so it´s ok to bitch and whine against trustfunded clubs, but at the same time they´re laughing at a club which possibly makes the most of limited means as a poor club from arguably a poor region? and at least we have a chance to play against whichever club plays at that place (great stadium by the way), where have arsenal finished again?

oh well. arsenal fans.

It's a joke mate.

Sometimes you gotta laugh.

I knew we shouldn't have sacked Sherwood.

Only two play off matches on 19th and 26th August. That is not as bad as this season.
Interesting point, taking every negative about the season as understood, we lost form and energy around New Year. Too many early games? Did it take a toll? I remember us going relatively strong with our lineups right from the start.

Would be an excellent opportunity to break our mental barrier in finals.

Unless we lose it. Then we'd need to qualify for the inaugural Europa Therapeutic Reintegration League.

Most teams seemed to hit a wall at some point with key players exhausted. Perhaps the Covid effect ?

After winning the League Cup in 2018 De Bruyne stated he believed the win could be a big moment for their young team as "it will help in the future, if we reach finals or important games, to be steady".

That's the approach we need to adopt. The way Man City looks at the League Cup, the way Sevilla approaches the Europa League, we need to view the ECL as an opportunity rather than a hindrance. A squad involving the likes of Rodon, Tanganga, Reguilon, and Bergwijn winning some silverware has the potential to be a springboard for us.

There is a reason Mourinho and Pep are serial winners. Look at how they have both treated the league cup, both treated it as a momentum boost early on in the season to instill a winning mentality in their teams. Its worked pretty well for both....

Yes we would all love to win a big trophy but lets just get any trophy we can and see if we can build on that momentum.

I’d celebrate winning it obviously but this group of players will fail before the final. They don’t have it in them to even win this. Europa league was well within reach this season and we disappointed as soon as we could.

Firstly, second place teams in the group stage going into a play-off with third placed teams from the Europa League is an even bigger pisstake than the UCL drop outs in Europa. Reads like satire.

Second, Uefa should have awarded winners with a UCL spot and runners up with EL. Such an open goal to both increase the prestige and boost perceptions of open, aspirational, European football. Would lead to some fantastic giant-killing stories. Idiots.

I think that after our involvement in despicable 12 and SL least we can do is bring some glamour to less fortunate and rich European clubs.
We should treat it seriously and consider that penance , and iam sure UEFA will be watching us closely.
I also get that cup winners cup and trade city tournament wibes and iam exited for opportunity to play teams that we had no opportunity to play since our Glory days.

It's quite cool actually to play in different stadiums like this. Much like our game against Marine in the cup earlier in the season. Let's treat these teams with a bit of respect.

Surely this is an excellent opportunity for the club to finally give something back to the fans and the community, to earn back a bit of respect?? Keep ticket prices low, £10 adults, kids for £5 or something like that, give the local kids an opportunity to get onto the stadium. Give local schools tickets, get a new generation of supporters in. Its got to be better than having 10k of supporters in on a Thursday night.
The club will still make money form merchandise and food etc.
After all the doom of this season and the ESL shit, hopefully they have learnt something??
I'm going to give myself an optimistic rating to go with all the others I am bound to get ?

I didn't want to qualify for it but now we're in it, we need to try and win it. And it would add another European first to our history (first British club to win a European trophy, first British club to win the UEFA Cup).
