I love it when big players deliver in the big matches, and that's exactly what Falcao did last night.

Whilst his first goal was a beauty, I thought his second was the perfect accomplished striker's goal. Control, skill for the turn, composed lethal finish.

Great players want to play in all games. Van Der Vaart was dissapointed when Harry left him out of the Europa squad. Im sure we could have balanced both Europa and the league. The top 4 have been doing it conisistently with the premiership and champions league.

The players crying were doing so because they love their club more than anything and knew they stood on the brink of achieving something amazing.

I had to laugh when Collymore was saying these lads can come again, probably in others teams colours...people seem to find it hard to understand just how much of an honour it is for these basque boys to play for their team. We don't see loyalty like that in the English game. 'More than a club' might be Barca's "slogan" but it fits Bilbao much better.

Why did we not go in for Falcao? I think he was signed for £24m. What a talent.
€40m, which with today's exchange rate is £32m. Atlético could afford that because of the money they got from the Agüero sale. I don't think we would've matched that.

BUMP!

Europa league kicking off right about now. I'm sure everyone is glued to the tv to watch the great teams of Europe such as Khazar Lenkoran, Elfsborg (Santa the manager?), Lech Poznan (Man City stole their dance), and FH Hafnarfjordur (one of the Swedish smurfs).

Will any of these clubs challenge Spurs in our quest to be Europa League Champions this year?

I'm watching the Bangor-Zimbru game and Bangor are wearing our European kit from our CL season in 2010-11. All they seem to have done is place something over the sponsor and our badge. I would make a comment about how it's just like watching Spurs but it isn't.

Unlikely, as we go straight into the group stage so don't even get to play a minnow in the first round. I'd say Lech and Twente, maybe Rosenborg are probably the only teams starting off in this round likely to make it to the group stage. Although after Shamrock last season, who knows. Wins for St Pats and Cliftonville, I see.

Rosenborg will be dumped out by the first half-decent team they come up against, they're really not very good any more. They'll need a lot of luck in the draws to get as far as the group stage. Lech and Twente should have the quality to get there though.
