Pretty much agree, although I think Fenerbache will beat Plzen.YES! or No. Voted yes, since I realised I´m rather tired of being such a cranky pessimist. I still don´t believe we´ll get fourth, and if we do, Arse will somehow be awarded our spot in some incredible, unprecedented application of an obscure rule where the team beaten twice in the last 16, with goals scored with exactly those intervals is to defend it´s honour the next tournament... or something.
Sooo... So much for not being a cranky pessimist.
Ok, there are strong f***ing teams in the EL now, but I do believe we will pick ourselves up after the Lyon games. Lyon were among the toughest teams to meat this competition (my opinion), and thoug Inter certainly are no pushover, I believe we´ll go on to the quarter finals.
Let´s have a look at the remaining teams:
Anji (win) - Chateau Noveau
Pilzen (win) - Fenerbache
Stuttgart - Lazio (win)
Steua - Chelskij (win)
Benfica (win) - Bordeaux
SPURS (win) - Inter
Levante - Rubin (win)
Basel - Zenit (win)
So, we´re clearly among the favourites here, together with Chelskij and Inter. Possible banana peels inclde Zenit, Rubin, Benfica, Lazio and Pilzen.
On the whole, I rather agree with the Danish tele bloke: the winner of SPurs - Inter will be the bookies´favourite to win the enitre thing.
No team with AVB on the bench can ever do anything 'ugly'.eViL said:Most teams that win cups (Barca the exception) tend to win ugly.
We're winning pretty ugly in Europe right now.
on the topic of lacking creativity it's interesting to note that Liverpool, man city and Arsenal, 2 teams who dont usually get that tag have only scored a very small amount of more goals than us in the league.
So we arent doing too bad for a team that doesnt have a great striker, and sometimes none at all!
I've seen them a couple of times recently and they haven't really been up to much. We could well have far too much pace for them.If we get past Inter Yes, unfortunately I cannot see us getting past Inter. Hope I'm wrong
